Football season equals fun for our sports-loving family!
There are tailgating parties, cheering on favorite teams, and eating LOTS of great food. What’s not to love, right!?
Our Favorite Football Game Snacks
As I work on preparing menus for any party, event, or big game that I host; I try to find delicious recipes that are also easy to make.
I especially love creating options that I can prep ahead of time. This Hot Ham and Cheese Crockpot Sandwich Recipe features delicious deli meat and cheese for great flavor and saving time!
Hot Ham and Cheese Crockpot Sandwiches Recipe
Ingredients
- Small Buns Or Croissants
- Deli Ham (my favorite brand is Kretschmar but any will do)
- Deli Cheddar Cheese
- Optional: Mayo and/or Mustard
Directions-
- Tear off one piece of foil (about 7-8″ long) for each sandwich that you plan to make.
- Cut small buns or croissants open and place one bun on each foil section.
- If you plan to use a mayo or spread, place a thin coating on each half of the bun. This is not necessary as the cheesy goodness coats the sandwich amazingly but sometimes a variation is also nice.
- Place one piece of deli cheese (we like to use cheddar but you can use another type if you prefer) on the top half of the bun and one piece on the bottom half.
- Layer the desired amount of Deli Ham on top of the cheese.
- Close the sandwich and wrap it in foil, covering it completely.
- Place all sandwiches in a large crockpot or roaster.
- Heat on low for 1 hour; till the sandwiches are warm and the cheese is melted.
- Enjoy!
Recipe Notes
As I mentioned above, the best part is that you can prep these sandwiches and then forget about them!
They can stay in the roaster (on low) longer than the ‘cook time’ as they will stay nice and warm in there. I know this recipe sounds so simple but let me assure you that the results are absolutely delectable!
