Fostering Love ~ A Reunification {+ Joovy Giveaway}

I received a Joovy baby doll set to facilitate this post.  All opinions are my own.

You may have caught a couple of my other posts but just in case not, our family does foster care.  We’ve been licensed since August of 2016.  I have to say, we did go into this with the hopes of adopting.  So far, that hasn’t happened.  And as time has gone on, the desire to adopt has moved to the background.  Instead, a desire to foster love has taken root.  (Don’t get me wrong, I still have hopes of adding to our family through adoption.  It’s just no longer the front runner of our foster care journey.)

Fostering Love

We just reunited two wonderful children with their parents last week.  After 2 1/2 months but three months ahead of schedule, these kids got to go home.  While we were sad to see them go, there was so much joy as well.  I couldn’t imagine the pain that this family felt when they were separated.  But with that reunification came a loss to our family.  So as we move on to being a family of 7 again, we want to continue teaching our kids to foster love.  Whether that comes through lending a hand to a neighbor.  Or volunteering at church.  Or in some other way.  Our goal is to spread love like Jesus did.

Fostering Love ~ A Reunification

baby Love

Now that our youngest not only lost her play mate and best friend, as the girls were the exact same ages.  She also lost a baby brother.  Of course, we knew that both were temporary but it’s hard for a 3 year old to comprehend.  So with that empty space, we are encouraging her to once again lavish love on her baby dolls in hopes of lessening her pain.

Joovy Toy Bundle

To distract Lucy from her daily asking for us to go pick up Ms. A, I surprised her with the Joovy Toy Bundle.  This fun set is so much more than I ever expected to find for a toy.  We are all super impressed.  While it’s available in both an infant seat or toddler seat versions, I choose the infant style carrier as her heart matches mine and lies with the littlest of babies.

Joovy Toy Bundle - Stroller, Crib, Car Seat

Mimicking some great choices from the real Joovy Child Line, this bundle features the Toy Caboose, Toy Car Seat OR Toy Booster Seat, and Toy Room² Playard.

The Toy Caboose

The Joovy Toy Caboose is a great kids stroller.  Just like a real stroller, it features a front seat that can sit straight up or recline.

Joovy has even designed this stroller to become a travel system as the infant car seat can be strapped right onto the front seat.

And just like the real deal, a second baby can ride on the “sit and stand” area.

And other noteworthy features include a canopy, storage basket underneath, and easy turn wheels for pushing.

Toy Room² Playard

Every baby needs to nap.  So this toy version of the Room² Playard is a must have.  I love that it’s unique from other doll cribs I’ve seen and Lucy loves that it’s big enough to fit several babies!

It sets up in a flash but folds down into a handy little travel/storage bag as well.  SO convenient!

Let’s Go For A Ride With The Joovy Car Seat

As I mentioned, we went with the infant carrier style car seat.  That way, the kids could use it as a seater for around the house with their babies too.  And it keeps those babies easily accessible for all the love!

This seat comes with a base, moving handle, and secure buckles.  It’s so life-like that even our oldest daughter thinks it’s pretty cool!

With a fairly lightweight design, Lucy (who is a small 3 year old) is able to manage carrying the seat just fine.

But what makes this seat especially unique is the fact that all the hardware is included to secure the base into a car!  So kids can now safely bring their own babies along for the ride.  The carseat clicks in and out of the base (our younger kids do need help with this part) just like a real one.
