Britax is a trusted manufacturer of some of the best car seats, strollers, and accessories. It’s a company that’s been around for over 50 years.  I’ve been a huge fan of their gear ever since our oldest child was a toddler and we purchased our first Britax seat.  From the quality of their products to their outstanding customer service, Britax has earned their standing with parents everywhere.

You may have already noticed this, but this new Britax Emblem Car Seat is actually a part of The Essentials By Britax line.  Because safety is essential for every family.  It only made sense that Britax create a line to deliver premium protection at an everyday value.  So their new line will deliver the ultimate protection for kids while still offering many great features we’ve come to know and love.  And all at a price point that allows a greater number of families to access. Saving my family money is so important to me, so I’m loving this new lineup of car seats from Britax!

While both seats in the Essentials By Britax line are very similar, the main difference is that the Britax Allegiance car seat provides one layer of side impact protection while the Britax Emblem Car Seat features two.

Britax Emblem Car Seat

The slightly more costly seat in the Essentials By Britax Line is the Britax Emblem Convertible Car Seat.  While the Allegiance runs for about $200, the Emblem is priced around $240.

Essentials By Britax Emblem Overview

The Emblem is what’s known as a “convertible car seat”.  This means that it can be used both rear and forward facing, which is great since kids can use longer.

Geared for children from 5 to 65 pounds, it can be secured using easy on/off LATCH connectors or a regular seat belt.  So if you’re looking to skip the infant carrier seat or update your toddler’s seat, the Emblem Convertible Car Seat is a great choice.  But keep reading to learn more!

Packed with features for both safety and convenience, the Britax Emblem car seat is definitely worth a second glance when shopping for a new seat.

2 Layers Of Side Impact Protection

As mentioned above, the Emblem Convertible Car Seat features two layers of protection.  This includes a deep, foam-lined shell as well as an adjustable headrest.

SafeCell® Impact Protection

This patented safety feature is actually a system of technologies.  They work together to keep the force of a crash directed away from your child.

Impact Absorbing Base

Created to divert energy away from your little one, the Emblem’s impact-absorbing base compresses to reduce the force of a collision.

Stabilizing Steel Frame

For both seat stability as well as endurance, a strong steel frame helps absorb impact and stabilize.

10 Position Harness Adjuster

Featuring a no re-thread harness, the Emblem easily adjusts to keep your child at proper harness height.  This is a must-have feature for me as otherwise, parents are stuck removing the seat and completely un-threading and re-threading.  Both time consuming and an overall unpleasant task!  So a huge thank you to Essentials By Britax for this feature!   Harness slots for the Emblem Convertible Car Seat measure at: 8.5″ / 9.5″ / 10.5″ / 11.5″ / 12.5″ / 13.5″ / 14.5″ / 15.5″ / 16.5″ / 17.5″.

V-Shaped Tether

This feature reduces seat rotation and slows forward movement, both important in the event of a crash.

LATCH System & Storage

Lower anchors are locked easily in place with just a quick click.  This makes it simple to secure the seat quickly and safely into your vehicle.  When your child outgrows the LATCH system or if you prefer to use the regular seat belt for installation, simply click the LATCH connectors into their built-in storage place.

Infant Insert

Because the Emblem Convertible Car Seat is able to be used from birth, they’ve included an insert to ensure that even the smallest of babies have a good, safe fit.

Velcro Fastener For Belt Storage

A little, yet helpful design that Essentials By Britax included with their Emblem seat is the handy velcro tabs on the interior of each side.  These two tabs help keep the buckle to the side and prevent them from ending up under the child.  This makes buckling a bit easier.

Removable Cover

While the removable cover allows for easier spot cleaning, I’d love to see Britax make these covers machine washable.  There are, unfortunately, just some situations that call for a complete washing!

My Overall Review Of The Essentials By Britax Emblem Convertible Car Seat

I really like that Britax has created this new line with more affordable options for families.  And the Emblem Convertible Car Seat has some really great features, as you can see above.  However, at the $240 price tag, I’d also suggest that you check out all of the seats that the regular Britax line offers to see if it would be worth splurging for any additional features. The Britax Marathon ClickTight Convertible Car Seat is definitely a noteworthy seat with its super fast easy seat belt installation.

Britax Accessories

While Britax is definitely known for their strollers and car seats, check out the Britax Car Seat Caddy for some kid-friendly organization.

This Caddy buckles right into the car, keeping it safe and secure during driving.  And the cover can be closed and zipped to keep the contents contained. There are even dividers that you can place and move around the interior for the perfect sized spaces. Or, store attached to the inside of the lid when you want one big compartment.

The variety of compartments both inside and out makes this a great choice for car organization.   Plus, kids love it!  Since my own children always seem to bring (or find) treasures everywhere they go, this Car Seat Caddy makes containing them a bit easier.
