Mattel Disney and Pixar Cars Radiator Springs Race & Rescue Rescue Road Raceway playset
The Disney & Pixar Cars Race & Rescue Playset makes an amazing gift idea for a 4-year-old boy because it captures all the fun and adventure of the Cars universe in one dynamic playset.
Inspired by Radiator Springs and featuring beloved characters like Lightning McQueen and Chick Hicks, this set lets kids race their favorite cars or switch into heroic rescue mode, giving them two ways to play that keep imagination running wild.
With multiple included character vehicles and exciting interactive features like a starter mechanism and rescue challenges, it’s perfect for storytelling, role-play, and hands-on action that’s just right for little hands with big ideas.
My boys have had such a fun time playing with this set!
Ty Bouncers - Rubble The Bulldog from Paw Patrol
Calling all Paw Patrol lovers! These Ty Bouncers are perfect for little boys! Ty Bouncers are adorable plush animals wrapped around a high-bounce rubber ball.
Other characters available that boys love include superheroes like Spiderman, Bluey, Disney characters, and even animals too.
Mini Mysteries Book Series
If you grew up loving to read mystery novels like me, you'll be so excited to discover the new Mini Mysteries book series from Gibbs Smith, one of my favorite publishers.
I'm loving the first 2 books in the series which are retellings of two of Agatha Christie’s most beloved classics retold as interactive picture book mysteries for children, The Mysterious Affair at Styles and The Mystery of the Blue Train.
These books don't include any violence or gore, just cozy mysteries with colorful, exciting illustrations that are perfect to introduce to your 4-year-old.
The third book in the series comes out next year, and it's based on the first book in the Nancy Drew series!
YOTO Player
Our family LOVES our YOTO players. We actually own 5 at this point (yes 5) because my kids love them so much and use them all the time. I wrote extensively about Yoto players HERE.
Basically, the Yoto works as an audiobook player, and you can also use it to play music too. My kids use Yoto all day long and frequently use it to listen to a book while they fall asleep at night.
GraviTrax Junior Starter Set - Jungle
My older sons love GraviTrax so I was SO excited to find out that Ravensburger released a line of Jr. sets! It's perfect for 4-year-old boys!
With GraviTrax, kids exercise their STEM skills to build fun marble tracks. Tracks can be built multiple ways plus expansion packs allow for even more creativity. This starter set has a fun jungle theme.
We have this set and another set and my preschool boys have loved them both so much!
3 Bees & Me Fun Dinosaur Toys
All of my boys have LOVED playing with dinosaurs. So when I found this awesome dino kit, complete with a carry tin, I just couldn't resist.
T-rex, Spinosaurus, Triceratops and more! This set comes with 12 of the best big jumbo prehistoric dinasours as well as Names and Fun Facts about each.
World's Softest Plush Stuffed Animals
Four year olds love to have a soft, cuddly plush of their favorite animal and the best out there are from World's Softest Plush! This cute Green Dinosaur is just one of the many different animals available.
These stuffed animals are created with ultra soft materials and have weighted paws/feet to make them extra huggable!
Preschool Sports Jersey
Once my boys hit the age of 4 they start really wanting to be more like Daddy, Grandpa, and their big brothers. For my boys that has meant an eagerness in the sports that these men love.
In our house, everyone loves football. It's a big deal here! Four is the perfect age to start getting him a jersey for his favorite sport team(s). My boys wear their jerseys multiple times a week and love to go outside and play football while wearing them.
Amazon is flooded with knockoff jerseys, so this is one thing I don't buy there. When I'm shopping for jerseys and other sports team items, I usually shop at Fanatics. They have great prices, a huge selection, and fast shipping.
Stanley Book Series
My boys discovered these books a few years ago and they became instant favorites. Every time we visit the library we end up with at least one Stanley book in our stack of checked out books. They are easy, simple reads that are truly a delight!
Play-Doh Busy Chefs Restaurant Playset
We have the Play-Doh Busy Chef's Restaurant Playset and my little boys love it! They can use the stampers to make pretend pizza, burgers, pasta, or chicken and press the lever to stamp 2 pretend foods at a time! Then, watch as the griddle slides over to the prep station as they release the lever!
They're also able to create make-believe burger toppings, fries, cookies, and more pretend foods using the half-molds on both sides of this kids' playset.
My boys like to have me order from the menu board and then they create and plate the order.
Brio Cargo Mountain Set
My four-year-old loves playing trains with his brothers. I love buying Brio sets for my boys because they are so well-made. I know I will be able to pass these toys down to younger brothers and one day grandchildren. We have Brio sets we've owned since 2014 that are still in excellent condition!
The Cargo Mountain Set takes play to extreme heights with five levels of crane and cargo action – from the helicopter pad to the dark caves deep in the mountains.
Each large mountain piece can be modified to create open-ended train sets with different heights, layouts, and functions. This set comes with a variety of machines including a helicopter, cargo train with wagons, and loading truck.
This is an amazing set that will get tons of playtime!
Magna-Tiles Magnetic Building Set
Every 4-year-old boy needs a set of Magna-Tiles and this is the perfect starter set or add-on set for a collection that has already started.
These translucent, brightly colored magnetic shapes look just like stained glass and are perfect for them to get the creative juices flowing as they design and create unique buildings, vehicles, and more.
My boys have SO much fun with Magna-Tiles. I usually end up getting them a new box every Christmas so they can make even more creations.
Magna-Tiles are also the kind of toy that boys will play with for years to come, even my 13-year-old enjoys building with his younger brothers still.

Rain sticks are another fun musical instrument for kids! Boys will love the colorful colors of this rain stick and watching the balls fall through the levels.
Kids Preferred Disney Friends 6 Pack Plush Toys Set with Hand Fasteners
What 4-year-old doesn't love Mickey Mouse and his friends?! I know mine have ALL loved watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse!
Featuring Mickey, Minnie, Daisy, Donald, Pluto, and Goofy, this set is not only adorable but also unique in that each character can hold hands with themselves and each other thanks to the hook-and-loop fasteners on their palms.
These plush characters are super soft and sure to put a smile on his face!
Spidey and His Amazing Friends Labyrinth Junior
My younger son loved to watch their older brothers and sisters play Labyrinth so when I saw that Ravensburger released a Junior version of the game themed for Spidey and His Amazing Friends (one of their favorite cartoons), I knew I had to get it for them!
This game is a 2-4 player game and it's a great introduction to strategy games for preschoolers. Easy to learn and fun to play; it quickly became a favorite for my preschool-aged boys!
Barrel of Monkeys
Remember all the fun with this classic version of Barrel of Monkeys! Steady your hand and try to build the longest chain of monkeys. But, if you drop a monkey, you lose your turn. The player who makes the longest chain wins this classic game!
A simple and fun game to play for a 4-year-old boy. If you're looking for stocking stuffers, this is a good choice!
Crocodile Dentist
Do you travel a lot with your 4-year-old? Crocodile Dentist is the perfect game to travel with because there are no loose parts.
He can pretend he is a dentist and help poor old croc who has a toothache. But, press the wrong tooth and he'll be in for a big surprise!
This game is sure to have your little guy giggling in excitement from the back seat of the car.
Remy the Field Mouse
This adorable mouse toy is perfect for his little hands! Remy will be a great friend to take along to preschool, car rides, and more. Boys will love being able to tuck him into bed at night in his adorable matchbox box which includes a pillow, blanket, and mattress too!
There are multiple mice available along with other animal critters, like a dog, kitten, dino, and more!
My son has 2 of these and loves them!
Pediped Flex Logan
I've been getting my boys Pediped shoes for years and am so impressed by the brand! Every pair of Pediped shoes I have gotten for my sons has lasted through multiple boys. They are well-made and look great too!
This style, the Logan, is part of their Flex line. The Flex Fit System allows you to adjust the fit of the shoe so your child can get the best fit and wear them for longer. Logan comes in a variety of color options. I love this chestnut color. It's perfect for wearing to church or when we are out running errands.
GoSili Silicone Cups
We're huge GoSili fans at our house! These cups are perfect for kids who are ready to transition away from sippy cups. They offer a more "grown-up" feel but also slow down spills when they happen.
Each of my kids has one of these cups and we use them especially on movie night. They like that it feels just like they are using a straw cup like they would get at the movies.
GoSili reusable cups are 100% European-grade platinum silicone and feature an embedded stainless-steel ring that prevents the cup from collapsing when gripped.
Your preschooler will use his GoSili cup over and over and over again!
Hide ’N’ Seek Busy Bags
These busy bags are perfect for preschoolers when they need a quiet activity like a car ride, waiting at a restaurant, or for quiet time.
Boys can search for different hidden objects themed to each character using the custom attached card that lists both visual and written prompts. They are a fun way for kids ages 2 to 5 to improve their fine motor skills, concentration, and problem-solving abilities.
If you're searching for a stocking stuffer, this is it!
