2017 Joovy Room Playard and Nursery Center Review

A playard is one of those must-have registry items. Today I’m excited to tell you all about the Joovy Room Playard and Nursery center!

First let me start by saying that I reviewed the original Joovy Room Playard and this is the updated version. I loved the original Joovy Room Playard. It was the playard I recommended to all of my mom friends. When I heard that Joovy was revamping my beloved playard I was eager, yet a little anxious, to see all the changes.

Spoiler alert – I gave my original Joovy Room Playard away once the updated Room came into my life. I didn’t think they could make it better, but they did!

So, why do I love it so much? First off, the whole thing, every single part, fits in the storage bag. I think this is the first playard I’ve owned that comes with extra pieces (like the bassinet, changing table, etc.) and everything still fits in the bag! Usually it’s just the playard and then I have all that extra stuff without a place to put it when I need to store the playard between babies. That drives me nuts! But just look, here is the playard and every single piece that goes with it, all fitting in this bag!

Another thing I love about the new 2017 Joovy Room Playard is that it comes with a sheet, and not just any sheet, a waterproof sheet. Again, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had babies pee and poop through their diapers while in a playard, then it soaks through the sheet and into the mattress. This sheet stops that mess!

The storage & changing table on the Joovy Room Playard and Nursery Center are also SO useful! When I have a newborn in the house, I like to set the playard up in the main living area (like our family room). This means I have to make fewer trips up and down the stairs, which is especially helpful when you’re trying to let your body heal from childbirth. It’s essentially like a second nursery for the baby, where I can change their diaper, clothes, and even lay them down for a nap. The diaper changing pad easily flips over the side of the playard when not in use, so you can have easy access to the bassinet/playard.

One side of the playard has a huge pocket where you can store extra clothes, swaddle blankets, etc. The other side has a generously sized storage area for diapers, wipes, cremes, and anything else you need easy access to.

The main playard area is huge, in fact, my 3 year old daughter still fits in it. You will get a lot of years of use out of this playard!

I normally have a part of my reviews where I talk about the drawbacks of a product, but honestly, I can’t find one with the new 2017 Joovy Room Playard and Nursery Center. I’d read some reviews about it being difficult to assemble/disassemble, but I didn’t have any issues with that. Just remember to keep the center completely pulled up when adjusting the rails and you should be good to go. (Hold onto the red handle, that helps.)

The 2017 Joovy Room Playard and Nursery Center is exactly what I am looking for when getting a playard for my little one, and so far, I haven’t found one that beats this one! I give it two thumbs up!
