woom Bikes Review – A Childhood Summer Staple

When I think back to my childhood, riding bike was a summer staple. My sister and I would spend hours upon hours biking down the dirt field road near our home. (We were country kids at that time.) Even when we moved close to town when I was 13, our biking adventures continued. We’d bike the 1/2 mile up town to the grocery store and the local parks. It was also how we got to our summer rec programs; as our parents were working. Biking was truly a huge part of being a kid and I cherish those memories. Perhaps with the exception of the time I swallowed a fly… I opened my mouth to talk to my sister while biking home from the store and it flew in and down my throat before I knew what was happening! (YUCK!!!! I still gag remembering it.)

When we first started doing foster care about seven years ago, it reminded me all over again how much we take being able to ride bike for granted. Some of the kids we had were amazed with country life and it was such a joy to see them hop on our bikes and explore the farm while here with us.

So if you’re in the market for a new bike, I highly suggest you check out woom; they’re a favorite around here! And we’re excited to partner with them to show off their woom 6.

Why We Love woom Bikes

When searching for a new children’s bike, I want to encourage you to do some research– as all bikes are not made the same. It may be easier to run to a big box store in town and grab the first bike you see but this year, I want to suggest you to check out woom instead.

The superlight woom 6 is perfect for kids to ride well into their teen years. Featuring an eight-speed gearing design, this bike allows riders to climb hills and go faster with ease. My son couldn’t believe how fast he can zoom around on the grass even!

The 2” wide Schwalbe tires and tailor-made wheels mean switching from pavement to dirt is no problem. And being we’re out in the country on our family dairy farm, this comes in super handy! This, combined with the lightweight frame and age-specific geometry, makes the woom 6 a versatile bike for any use.

Memories of biking as a kid are so special. I am older then you weekends were ours to bike. We would be out of the house out early and maybe take peanutbutter sandwiches with us. We were ever where and did everything. When moms would starting yelling dinner we all knew it was time to go home.

This is a nice bike. I really like this.... accommodating different heights, weights, and riding levels.

My great niece won one last year that she is just growing it to........ but not as nice as this.

This looks like a perfect bike for kids with the 8 gears and versatility. I remember that sense of independence and freedom at that age being on my bike.
