Wagon strollers are all the rage these days and it’s easy to see why. They’re so convenient, especially with multiple children. But even with just one child, a stroller wagon can offer some amenities that a traditional stroller just can’t.

Before we get started with the review, we’ll first talk more about Stroller Wagons.

What Is A Stroller Wagon?

A stroller wagon is a hybrid combination that encompasses features from both wagons and strollers. Basically, a wagon stroller packs the punch of a double (or quadruple) stroller, all-terrain access of a jogging stroller, and storage of a wagon all into a single product. Some stroller wagons even come with car seat adapters to transform them into travel systems.

Is A Stroller Wagon A Good Choice For Your Family?

There are several things to consider when deciding if a stroller wagon is the right choice for your family.

Stroller wagons are truly the perfect combo of the traditional stroller and the classic wagon. They are designed to offer families another way to get out and about with little ones along for the ride. They come in many different styles and configurations and a range of price points, and most can tackle many different types of terrain. But also keep in mind, not all stroller wagons are the same so you’ll want to do some research before choosing which is best for your family.

Some things you’ll want to think about may be:

• How often do I currently use a stroller or wagon?
• What are the features I want most in a wagon stroller?
• How many seats do I need?
• Do I want extra space for additional children or friends?
• How much space do I have in my vehicle?
• Where do I plan to use my wagon stroller?

How Much Do Wagon Strollers Cost?

There are several brands who offer wagon strollers these days and the price points will vary based on size, features, quality, and design. I’ve seen them for around $200 at the lowest and up to $1,000+ for the high end. As with most things, you typically get what you pay for.

Is A Stroller Wagon Worth It?

While this answer may vary from person to person, stroller wagons definitely offer more space than a typical stroller, which hopefully gives you enough room to pack up everything you need. So for many parents, replacing a stroller with a stroller wagon is an upgrade that they find beneficial.

Again, keep in mind not all are the same and some will feature more storage than others.

Another thing to note, while a stroller wagon can be a replacement for a single or double stroller, most cannot be used for kids who don’t sit upright on their own. Some may come with (or sell separately) car seat adapters to transform them into travel systems.

Others may come with mats for a lay flat option. Many come with upright seats and no other option. So make sure to choose a wagon stroller that will meet all your needs.

I’ve been eyeing up the WonderFold Wagon lineup for a few years now, even before I knew I’d ever need one! My ‘bigger’ kids were all getting out of the stroller and wagon age when I first heard about WonderFold but that didn’t stop me from wanting one.

So Much To Love

I’ve gotten a chance to be up close and personal with several stroller wagons to date and I have to say that the WonderFold W2 Luxe is my current favorite. There are just SO many reasons why I love this wagon stroller.

Baby Sits Up High

Out of all the stroller wagons we’ve tested out, this WonderFold option has my baby sitting up the tallest in the seat. That means it’s easier for me to keep an eye on Ruby as well as assist her. Not only that, she can see what’s going on much better too!

5 Point Harness Buckle

The W2 Luxe comes with two seats, both featuring 5 point harnesses. This is such a great feature because squirmy babies and toddlers aren’t always kept secure in 3-point harnesses.

Unique Magnetic Closure

I also love the magnetic closure is super easy for adults to operate. It snaps together with minimal effort and then unhooks by pressing the two arrow buttons (so hard enough that young children can’t manage but still super easy for adults).

Seat Or Flat Bottom Option

Another ingenious part of the W2 Luxe design is that you can customize the wagon setup to your personal preferences and needs. That means, you can use one seat, two seats, or no seats for a flat bottom option.

NOTE: This wagon also allows the child to be placed sitting straight up or at an inclined angle!

Flip Flop Friendly Brake

Once summer is on the horizon, I live in flip flops. The worst thing about some strollers and wagons is when I have to bend down and use my hand to enable or disengage a brake because it hurts too bad to use my bare topped foot. Thankfully, WonderFold has designed this awesome stroller wagon to be flip flop friendly as the brake is sturdy but goes on and off easily with flip flop wearing feet.

Beautiful Handlebar That’s Also Height Adjustable

I love the vegan leather handlebar grip on the W2 Luxe because it looks gorgeous and is easy to grip when pushing. While the grip can be zipped off, I can’t think of a reason why you wouldn’t want to keep it on. It’s so pretty!

Unique Zippered Entry For Easy In And Out With Bigger Kids

We all know that toddlers and preschoolers love to be independent. Well, this wagon is uniquely designed to have a zippered entry on one end where kids can climb in and out by themselves! Bonus points because this also means parents won’t be stuck lifting big kids constantly when they want a ride or back out to walk.

The Not So Great

I’ve shared with you my top things that I love about the WonderFold W2 Luxe but now I want to talk about the not so great. Honestly, there’s truly not much to complain about. When pondering this question, I only came up with the following.

The Size

No matter what stroller, wagon, or stroller wagon you’re looking at; most are going to take up some space. So while I list the size as a ‘negative’, it’s actually both a pro and con. It allows the child(ren) adequate space when in use but does take up some premium trunk space when traveling as well.

Accessories Are Sold Separately

First off, I do want to note that the WonderFold W2 Luxe DOES come with a canopy, pull strap, and storage bin. What I wish it also came with as opposed to being offered separately is a parent console (because who DOESN’T want a handy space to put their drinks and essentials), pull handle (versus the strap), and the kids snack tray.

Having a space to put some crackers that’s handy for the kids as well as help contain a mess would be super beneficial.

All in all, I can’t say enough great things about the W2 Luxe. It’s been a great addition to our family.
