We love playing board games together as a family! These moments are opportunities to turn off the many different screens in our house an instead fill that time together with some healthy competition and a lot of laughs. So often, especially around the holidays, we miss out on so many other wonderful games because we limit ourselves to what we see on commercials and in Black Friday ads. This Christmas our family is going to win big with a lot of new and exciting board games. I know I’ve found some that you’ve probably never heard of, and you aren’t going to want to miss out on adding these to your holiday shopping list!

Inspired by his experience of once rescuing a tree squirrel, Randy Hecht, an aerospace engineer from Southern California invented this educational board game, and co-founded the company Moxy Roxy, Inc. to pay homage to his furry friend named “Roxy.” Roxy has built her nests around Randy’s backyard, given birth to several litters of babies, and pays him regular visits.
Take a live journey through the eyes of a tree squirrel. We have all seen these cute creatures in the wild and our backyards, yet few know much about them. Finally, for the first time a board game has been created to simulate the life of a typical tree squirrel from nest born, to adulthood, and ultimately parenthood.
Full of humanizing and amusing nuances, both children and adults will enjoy many hours of fun and entertainment. With cleverly designed game rules, it also helps kids develop important social, math and negotiation skills that will benefit both their personal and professional lives for years to come.
Our family couldn’t wait to break this game out and play! The game says for ages 8+ but aside from my 5-year-old needing some help with the reading, he didn’t have any problem hanging tight with the rest of us and loved every minute of this board game! There were lots of laughs as we read the Squirrel Destiny Cards. After one game with Mom and Dad the kids are able to take It’s A Squirrel’s Life out and play on their own! Our whole family truly got a picture of what it’s like to live life as a squirrel. This game has quickly become a family favorite!
Check out the video below to see how to play!

You will see many colors that aren’t important to solving the puzzle. To solve the Rubik’s Triamid, you must recognize which pieces are CORNERS and which pieces are EDGES.
