We’re Trying Again – Baby #8 On the Way

After walking through two heartbreaking losses, our hearts are both tender and overflowing with joy as we share this news: we are expecting our 8th child!

This little one is already so deeply loved—not just by us, but by seven excited siblings who are already making name suggestions, dreaming about baby snuggles, and claiming who gets to hold him or her first. (Gideon was the first to ask, so it will probably be him.)

Pregnancy after loss is complex. It’s holding joy in one hand and fear in the other. It’s tears that come unexpectedly and prayers whispered constantly. And it’s learning, again and again, that our hope is in Christ.

Thank you for rejoicing with us. We can’t wait to share more of this journey with you as our family grows (again!) and our hearts stretch to hold more love than we ever thought possible.

With love and hopeful hearts,
— Janessa

Frequently Asked Questions

How far along are you? I’ll be 16 weeks tomorrow. That’s how far along I was when we lost Amara, so there have been even more extra prayers lately.

Do you know if you’re having a boy or a girl? I didn’t do the blood test this time around so we don’t know yet but do plan to find out at my 20-week anatomy scan.

When are you due? October 29th, however you might remember that all of my other babies have arrived after my due date so chances are high this will end up being a November baby.
