Walmart Has Christmas Covered! {+ 16″ Boys’ Hot Wheels Bike Review}

November 22, 2017 by Miranda 34 Comments

This post is sponsored by Mirum to share that Walmart & Mattel has Christmas covered but all opinions are my own.

This summer held several milestones for our kids.  We went on our very first family road trip.  Fourteen hours in the van each way!  We actually drove straight through both times, with stops for eating and restrooms only.  Everyone did great though.  Then our middle son, who was 6 at the time, learned how to ride bike with training wheels!  So that was an exciting week too.  And there was other fun things along the way too.

Backyard Bike Riding #givethegiftoffun

I think every child should should have the privilege of riding their own bike around their yards and neighborhoods.  I have such fond memories from my childhood biking and I wish everyone would be able to look back and smile too.  And Mattel is a great brand to turn to when searching for just the right bicycle for your kiddos.  They have lots of fun styles for boys and girls in a variety of sizes.  And with Christmas coming, this would make an amazing gift for under the tree!

Available at Walmart stores as well as online, the 16″ Boy’s Hot Wheels Bike is sure to be a hit with boys everywhere.  When our 5 1/2 year old caught sight, he was absolutely thrilled.

Assembly Time

As usual, I let me husband lead this part.  While I can put things together if I absolutely HAVE to, I much prefer to be a bystander.  So the kids got busy helping him.

The assembly process was pretty basic.  Nothing difficult, just takes a little time to put everything where it belongs.  All in all, the bike went from un-boxed to fully assembled in about 20 minutes.  And this included many helpers.

Fun & Useful Features

First off, I want to share some of the features that make this Mattel Hot Wheels Bike unique.  My son’s favorite is the Rev Grip.  It makes noise and lights up with a simple twist of the handle.

The handlebar shield also adds dimension and boosts the cool factor to this bike.

Also featuring a sturdy steel BMX frame, this bike is made to last.  Always nice when the kids get to pass their toys on once they outgrow!  And the authentic Hot Wheels graphics and silver accents are pretty neat too.

The rear coaster brake, adjustable seat, all-terrain tires, and chain guard all come together to complete the design behind this bike.

Whether hitting the trails, driveway, or backyard, this Hot Wheels Bike is a hit and Sam highly recommends it!

    I have a couple questions. Does the training wheels come with the bike? What is the age recommended to ride it?

    Awesome bike. We always use Walmarts assembly service when we get bikes from them. I am sure my husband could put them together but it is usually around the holidays that we replace our sons bike and there is so much else to do at that time.

    Walmart has a lot of fun and educational stuff for kids! This bike is one of them. Dressing it up as a cool Hot Wheels bike and a matching helmet also shows that being safe is cool too! I couldn’t wait to have my own bike when I was a kid! This will make some child very happy!! TY

    This bike is so cool and I can tell by the big, bright and gorgeous smile on your son’s face that it is a super fun bike too! I love all of the extra features that make it look like a racing bike, but underneath the WOW factor, it has a sturdy steel BMX frame. You have a really cute son. Mine is 28 now, but it seems like yesterday that he was freewheeling outside in our neighborhood. Those memories are priceless!
