My husband and I built our home two and a half years ago. Although we said we would finish every last detail right away, that didn’t happen. Now as we have been preparing the nursery for our baby, we really do want to have this room completely done before his arrival this July.

Our Travel and Adventure Themed Nursery

We were so excited to set up the nursery and once we found out we were having a boy it didn’t take long for us to settle on a theme: Travel & Adventure! A travel and adventure theme seemed perfect for our little guy.

First Things First – The Bedding

Choosing the perfect bedding is the very first thing you should do when designing your nursery, so I headed straight for Jack and Jill Boutique. I am sure most of you reading this know exactly how to shop! But let me be honest, it can be hard to know where to start when you are trying to coordinate a whole room from scratch. Now I am no expert. That’s why I was so thankful for the Jack and Jill Boutique team and well laid out website when I was working on completing the nursery and finding the perfect luxury crib bedding.

Since our nursery is a travel and adventure theme, we went with the Tupac’s Aztec Crib Bedding Collection. We went for an earthy look in the room with unique tribal patterns, Aztec neutral colors, and rustic wood accents. Make It Your Own

Once you have your luxury crib bedding picked out, you can customize what pieces you want. Then work directly with their staff to customize your order as needed. For example, our bedding set was designed to come with a mint green fitted sheet. With one simple email, I was able to get it swapped out for a navy sheet. This would better match with the look we were trying to achieve.

Also, keep in mind that you do not need to select a predetermined set. You can shop bedding and decor pieces separately and choose exactly what you want to use when completing the nursery. Plus, you can order sample swatches to see the exact fabric, texture, and colors in your home before ordering.

Finish The Nursery

Once you’ve got your bedding picked out, it’s time to finish off the room with all of the other little touches. It’s time to add lamps, bookshelves, hampers, wall decor, curtains, and all of that fun stuff! I was able to get most of the accessories I wanted for the room from Jack and Jill Boutique but there were a few pieces I picked up from other places.
