Clear the kitchen table, set out some snacks, and grab a board game! In my house, we love our game nights. Whether planned or a last-minute gathering, game nights are a way to bring everyone together and today, I’ve teamed up with Winning Moves Games to share my tips for planning a fun game night!
Tips for Planning a Fun Game Night
Hosting a game night doesn’t have to be stressful. Try to keep it simple. Bringing family and friends together in the spirit of competition can create fun memories that will be talked about for years to come. If you’re planning a game night soon, keep reading to find out some of my tried and true tips on making sure your night involves fun, conversion, and laughter.
Invite People Who Love Games Too
First off, you’ll need to create your guest list. Invite the people who love playing games as much as you do! Not everyone is a fan of playing games, but that’s ok. Having a list of people who love a little friendly competition and can remain light-hearted is a great way to keep the night enjoyable. Also, decide what type of games you want to play. Are they kid-friendly or adult-rated? Keep guests in the loop on if they need to find a babysitter for the night.
Provide Fun Board Games
Of course, the obvious thing to have when planning a game night is a selection of games. It’s great to have a couple of different options to choose from and, if bored with your personal game collection, then maybe ask your guests to bring some of their favorite games with them. If you do need to freshen up your selection of board games, check out Winning Moves Games! From classic to current, they have so many awesome, family-friendly games.
Snacks and Beverages
Where there is food, there is fun! Having a couple of choices of snacks and beverages on hand is a great way to keep everyone in a good mood. The snacks don’t have to be extravagant. A bag of chips, a bowl of popcorn, or maybe a container of chocolates will do the trick. For beverages, it’s nice to be able to offer a few selections. If worried about what kind of drink your guests like, it may be a good idea to send them a quick text or call to ask.
Comfortable seating
Find a spot in your home with enough space where everyone will be able to see the board and game-plays being made while also having a comfortable place to sit. Sitting around your kitchen table might be an ideal area, but if your space and game allow, maybe crowd around a coffee table while sitting on a cozy couch. With everyone seated in a comfortable spot where they can easily access the game, this simple detail will keep your guests feeling included in the conversation and fun.
Whether your favorite game is a classic board game or an intense card game, Winning Moves Games has just the right options for you to plan a fun game night with friends and family.
How often does your family play games? Do you usually invite guests?
