I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, biking is so much fun! We love going on family bike rides and the fact that this pastime can be enjoyed by all makes it the perfect activity for families. When you add a little one to the mix, riding bike can definitely get a bit trickier. But thanks to brands like Thule, it’s no longer the impossible challenge it used to be!

Thule Yepp 2 Maxi Child Bike Seat Review

There are several different style bike seats and carriers you can use with children. I actually shared a review on a ‘front of the bike seat style’ called the Thule Yepp Nexxt 2 Mini earlier this year.

We have absolutely LOVE that seat! But since we now have two toddlers after our foster son joined us, we needed a second toddler seat. So today, I’m going to share our experience with the Thule Yepp 2 Maxi Child Bike Seat. This is the typical ‘behind the adult’ style, rear mounted seat you often see.

The Thule Yepp 2 Maxi bike seat weighs in at about 11 pounds. Installation wasn’t too hard, although we had two toddler helpers so it definitely took us longer than it should have.

Features Of The Yepp 2 Maxi

This rear mounted (child) bike seat provides comfort and style for everyday bike rides. Features include:

Final Thoughts On Our Thule Yepp 2 Maxi Child Bike Seat

We have really been enjoying the Thule Yepp 2 Maxi. My husband especially loves how secure it is. (He says it’s much safer than our previous rear mount seat from a different brand.). It’s so easy to put on and off the bike, which we appreciate. Sometimes our boys will grab my husbands bike so they just quickly pop the seat off then.

The toddlers also both like riding in the Yepp 2 Maxi. It doesn’t recline, so that might make unplanned naps a bit uncomfortable. But our kids tend to stay awake for most of our rides so that doesn’t usually matter.

Overall, this seat is awesome. It’s well made, comfortable, and safe.

NOTE: Be sure to measure your bike. This seat comes in a rear-mount option or rack mount option so you’ll want to ensure you get the best fit for your specific bike.
