I used to think that jogging strollers were only for the people who wanted to run/jog with their kiddos. From a mother who lives out in the country, I can attest that is not the case. Typical strollers and even stroller wagons just aren’t great options for our gravel roads. After getting the chance to review the Thule Urban Glide 3 Double Stroller, I’m excited to share I’ve found the ultimate all-terrain option for every environment! The market is saturated with strollers these days but you’ll quickly realize they are not all equal. There are so many things to take into consideration when choosing the best stroller for your family. I’ve owned and reviewed many strollers over the years and I’m happy to report that Thule is at the top of my list that I tell people to consider.

Assembly

After unboxing, I quickly saw that assembly was going to be a breeze. The only steps we had to take was snapping on the wheels and canopies. Easy peasy! We were ready to roll, literally, in under 5 minutes.

Features

When it comes to strollers, a great design and high quality features will make all the difference. Designed with practicality in mind, the Thule Urban Glide 3 has become a favorite around here.

• Fairly Lightweight, In Terms Of Double Strollers: Made with an aluminum frame, steel and nylon parts, and a polyester cover; this twin stroller weighs in at just over 35 pounds.
• Large Air-Filled Tires: These big, strong wheels not only offer a comfortable ride on any terrain; they also provide easy pushing!

• Individually Controlled Reclining Seats: Not only does this stroller feature TWO seats, they both can recline independently. And because they are designed with the strap system, you can set at the exact angle you need at any moment.

• 5 Point Harness: Each seat features a safe, secure 5-point harness buckle so kids are protected on every journey.

• One Handed Fold: The easy, one-hand, compact fold features a self-stand design for easy storage and transportation. I also love that it self-locks upon folding.

• Front Swivel Wheel: Not only does the front wheel swivel, it can also lock into place for those higher speed expeditions.

• Reflective Tire Striping: All three tires feature reflective striping for added visibility.

• Large Canopies: The extra large canopies can actually unzip and extend even further! They offer full coverage and ventilation, ensuring each child is comfortable and protected from the elements. Plus, both canopies are ran individually so you can adjust to personal preference and need of each rider.

• Smooth Braking: The integrated twist hand brake on the handlebar offers smooth, safe speed control on any terrain.
• Spacious Storage: Beneath the seats is a large cargo basket that is designed with a full zip and velcro top. This is super awesome as it prevents the possibility of anything falling out! There’s also a small zippered pocket on the back of the cargo basket and each seat features a mesh cargo pocket for even more storage.

• Flip Flop Friendly Brake: While this may not be at the top of the ‘most important features’ list for some, it’s something I LOVE to see on a stroller! I spend my summers in sandals and hate having to bend down to unlock my stroller brake so thank you Thule for this ingenious design.

Final Thoughts On The Thule Urban Glide 3 Stroller

I feel the Thule Urban Glide 3 Stroller is hard to beat. It’s the original all-terrain stroller! Top notch comfort and unmatched maneuverability really make this stroller outshine the competition. It’s helped me get outside this spring with our two littles, whereas without the Thule Urban Glide 3, it would have been so much more difficult.

Pros

There are just so many things I love about this stroller. It seriously pushes like a dream. The humongous canopies are the best as they help block out the sun, which the toddlers and I appreciate. Even though my bulky diaper bag doesn’t fit in the basket, it’s super easy to put the necessities (or my smaller diaper bag) in and zip everything up for safe storage. I also like that I don’t have to worry about anyone swiping anything from my basket because all our belongings are ‘hidden’ and out of view.

Cons

Probably the biggest drawback is that this stroller is slightly bulky when traveling. It does take up the entire back of my van; but that’s a price I’m willing to pay for the amazing functionality, comfort, and style.

Finally, all accessories are sold separately. (Although that is becoming the norm.) I just wish this stroller came with at least the bumper bar, but even more preferably, the snack tray. (Hangry toddlers = no fun!) I do appreciate the variety of accessories available including: bumper bar, rain cover, snack tray, double rain cover, double mesh cover, seat liner, bassinet, and more.
