Taco Bake Casserole: A Ground Beef Recipe

Tacos are my favorite food. Pretty much in any form. And while my absolute preferred way to eat them is with my homemade taco shells, this taco bake casserole served alongside Doritos is a close second.

This Taco Bake Casserole, sometimes called Dorito Bake is made with ground beef. If you prefer chicken, try this Nacho Chicken Dorito Casserole. It’s a simple, crave-worthy recipe that even the pickiest of eaters can enjoy.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 can cheddar soup
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup (can use cream of chicken if you prefer)
  • 1 can Rotel
  • 1 package taco seasoning
  • 1 package dry ranch seasoning
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar
  • Additional shredded cheese for top (1-2 cups sharp cheddar)
  • Doritos or Tortilla Chips
  • Optional Toppings: Lettuce, Sour Cream, Diced Tomatoes, Diced Onions

Taco Bake Casserole (With Ground Beef)

Cook Time: 25 minutes
Total Time: 40 minutes

This taco casserole is made with ground beef and is a quick and easy dinner recipe.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 can cheddar soup
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can Rotel
  • 1 package taco seasoning
  • 1 package dry ranch seasoning
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Additional 1-2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • Additional toppings if desired: shredded lettuce, diced onions, diced tomatoes, and sour cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Brown ground beef and diced onion until done. (Season if desired. I like to use 1-2 teaspoons of garlic salt, onion salt, seasoning salt, and pepper.)
  3. Transfer to large mixing bowl.
  4. Add the can of cheddar soup and can of mushroom soup.
  5. Stir well.
  6. Add can of Rotel.
  7. Stir well.
  8. Add package of taco seasoning and package of dry ranch seasoning.
  9. Stir well.
  10. Add 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese.
  11. Stir well.
  12. Cook a 9x12 cake pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  13. Pour mixture inside and spread evenly.
  14. Top with additional shredded extra sharp cheddar cheese.
  15. Bake for 25-30 minutes or till cheese is bubbly.
  16. Serve with Doritos or tortilla chips and your choice of toppings.
  17. Enjoy!

Notes

Can substitute cream of chicken soup in place of the cheddar soup or cream of mushroom soup if desired.
