Continue Down The Paved Path To See What SummerLand, Central Minnesota’s Outdoor Fun Park Has In Store
Changing Room
Directly across the path from the main building is a small changing room. One for men and another for women. They feature a single room each with a bench. Smaller in size but clean and in good repair. So the perfect place to get suited up for wet and wild fun on the Slide or Bumper Boats.
Giant Water Slide
Next up on the path is the Giant Blue 350 foot Water Slide. As you drive up to SummerLand Fun Park, this is the beauty that catches most eyes. It looms above the park, inviting guests to enjoy a slick ride down. Twists and turns as you zip down and slip right into the heated pool at the bottom. Our kids LOVE this slide! And I still have so many amazing memories of it from when I was a kid myself!
I really like the mats they have available to ride down the slide on as they make for a smooth ride. But you may also ride without the mat if you prefer. Plus, they do have life jackets on hand for younger riders as well.
So if you need to cool off on a hot summer day, this Water Slide is the perfect place to do it!
Cam-Am Karts & Indy Karts
Across the path from the Water Slide is one of the most popular attractions at SummerLand, Central Minnesota’s Outdoor Fun Park. The SummerLand Grand Prix. They offer a couple different ride options including Cam-Am Karts, Indy Karts, and Double Family Karts.
The Indy Karts do require you to be 62″ tall as well as 12 years old to drive. So Hannah was our only child old enough to qualify driving these Karts.
But the rest of the family was able to enjoy the Cam-Am Karts. To be a driver, you do have to be 48″ tall and 7 years old. But any child may ride along with a responsible 16+ old driver in the Double Karts.
Featuring a 1,000 foot track, complete with banked turns and curves, this is one ride that nobody wants to end.
Moon Walk
Continuing down the trail, you’ll come to a large Moon Walk. It is, by far, the biggest one I’ve ever seen in my life! Geared for ages 3-10, kids can go in and out as they please as there is no time limit.
And every time we’ve been to SummerLand, Central Minnesota’s Outdoor Fun Park, we’ve never had any issues with sharing either. It’s big enough that any kids who want to jump at any particular time can usually fit!
Bear Kountry Mini Golf
This 18 Hole Mini Golf Course features a variety of friendly bears, water falls, streams, and fun facts along the way. It’s a fun course that kids and adults alike enjoy. The holes are challenging, yet not too hard. Even younger children are able to have fun and enjoy. The surroundings also help to keep kids engaged during play.
Bumper Boats
Then if you keep walking, you’ll find yourself next to the Bumper Boats. Make sure you change into your swimsuit before riding, unless you don’t mind getting a little wet! Last year, I thought I’d be able to manage staying dry and ended my ride SOAKED!
Buzz around the water and bump into your friends and other riders. Bumper Boats are loads of fun for all ages!
To drive your own Bumper Boat, children must be at least 48″ tall. However, anyone who is at least 3 feet tall and 3 years old can ride with an adult (for free as young passengers don’t have to pay!)
Jr. Bumper Boats
If the younger family members wish to drive their own water boat, the Jr. Bumper Boats are a great choice. Right next door to the full size Bumper Boats, these are geared for ages 3 to 6.
These little Electric Bumper Boats offer a gentler ride for those who may be a little meek for big splashes. Kids hum around a small, shallow pool and tend to do more driving them bumping. But even when they do bump, it’s a gentle action.
While our younger kids enjoy riding along on the big Bumper Boats, they really love being able to be in the drivers seat of something their own size too.
Now the path splits off. You can continue forward to experience the Kid Kountry Go-Kart Track and The Lakes Adventure Golf. Or take a left to find the Batting Cages, new Crazy Coyote’s Slick Track, and large group picnic area.
Jr. Go Kart Track
Another part of Kid Kountry is the Jr. Go Kart Track that lets the littlest of racers enjoy an adrenaline rush. Just kidding! These tot sized karts go slow and steady but the younger kids absolutely love them! I also want to note that every worker we had contact with was super polite and helpful. I especially appreciated how the one got down next to Lucy to explain how to run her little Kart.
There is actually two different sized karts available at this track. A smaller, pint sized kart that has handle gas and brakes.
And a slightly larger sized kart that features the foot pedals for control. But either one is loads of fun on this course. And the back side of the track also features a fun little hill that my kids get a kick out of.
The Lakes Miniature Golf
The Lakes Adventure Mini Golf is one of the newer attractions available at SummerLand, Central Minnesota’s Outdoor Fun Park. This course is a bit more challenging but just as fun to play. Plus, you’ll get to read 18 different story boards about different Minnesota lakes as you work your way through this 18 hold course. Enjoy some animals, water falls, and a unique course along the way.
Batting Cages
My baseball loving boys could not get enough of these batting cages! There are four different pitching machines to choose from including: slow pitch softball, fast pitch softball, 50mpr baseball, and 60 mph baseball. Bats and helmets are provided but you are also welcome to bring your own equipment if you’d like. Tokens are available for 18 ball sessions or you can even rent a cage for 30 or 60 minute increments.
Crazy Coyote’s Slick Track
Brand new last year, the super fun Crazy Coyote’s Slick Track Go Kart Track is a must do. This challenging 500 foot concrete course features a variety of corners and turns.
This track offers 9HP Slick Karts where you must be 55″ tall to drive. Or choose the JR. karts where you must be 48″ tall and 7 years old to drive. Both karts can run at the same time and this track does not disappoint!
Benches, Picnic Areas, & Flowers
Throughout the park, you’ll find a variety of seating along the way. I LOVE that they do this! There are times when I need to recharge but the kids want to keep going. So grabbing a seat near the attraction of their choice allows me to keep a watchful eye on them while resting up. There is also a covered picnic area that offers tables and chairs in the shade.
And the owners and staff do such a great job at keeping the entire park clean and welcoming. You’ll find a variety of potted flowers along your way, the grass is kept trimmed nicely, and the entire environment is welcoming.
What To Bring When Visiting SummerLand, Central Minnesota’s Outdoor Fun Park
A cinch sack with a swimsuit (or if you wear your suit, a change of dry clothes), a towel, and some spending money for food, games, and tickets/wristbands. And that’s about it! They provide all the fun!
While there are no lockers to put things in, we’ve left our bags on picnic tables or in the shelter area each visit and never had any issues with anything going missing.
Final Thoughts About SummerLand Fun Park
There is no better way to spend a warm summer day than at SummerLand. We always find so much to do. And the staff is always so friendly and helpful. If you want a family friendly place to visit, this is where it’s at!
