Scholastic was a BIG deal when I was in school. We homeschool our kids so I’m not even sure….do they still have Scholastic book fairs? Those were the best! I’d scrounge up some money to buy a book and small trinket and would be on cloud 9 for days.
To this day, we are a family that LOVES reading! In fact, when we have to find a ‘punishment’ for the kids, it typically comes down to taking away books for the day. (Not a bad problem to have, I know.) I credit their love for reading to a variety of things but two major steps in particular. When the kids were little, we read to them, a lot! Pretty much every night actually. My husband and I would sit down and we’d read 5-10 short kids books to them every night at bedtime. Another important thing we did was limit screen time, which we still do to this day.
So I couldn’t let July hit without sharing some awesome Scholastic books with you that make for great summer reads — all available on Amazon too!

When his sister, Icicle, runs away from Jade Mountain Academy, fleeing terrible crimes and possibly planning to commit more, Winter knows that they both need a second chance to make things right — if only he can find her.
