Miranda’s Perspective
Maternity clothes have changed SO much over the years. Back when I had my first child over 16 years ago, the maternity selection was slim. What was most readily available were tent-like smocks that truly made me feel AND LOOK like a whale. While I did purchase some of those hideous maternity tops, I ended up resorting to wearing my husband’s t-shirts for the majority of the pregnancy. (Those also did nothing for my figure and truly were not that comfortable!)
Over the years and my next four pregnancies, I’ve noticed that maternity styles have really come a long way. I really like how I can now find clothing that is comfortable while still accentuating my growing bump instead of trying to hide it under a tent. So today, Janessa and I are thrilled to share some of our favorite Kindred Bravely Maternity pieces with you and we’re sending a big thanks to Kindred Bravely for partnering with us.
Janessa’s Perspective
My maternity style has changed quite a bit over the years. During my first pregnancy, I was working full time and so I needed a lot of professional clothes to wear. Since then, I’ve been a stay-at-home mom, so I’ve looked for more comfortable attire that’s still stylish when I head out to the grocery store or library with the kids.
Maybe it sounds silly, but with 6 kids and a pregnant baby bump, I already fear being judged for the number of children I have. Because of that, I feel like I NEED to at least look put together when we are out. I also want to look nice when I’m home as well plus be comfortable.

Signature Cotton Nursing & Maternity Tank (Janessa)
I am one of those people who is always cold…well unless it’s at least 80 degrees outside. Because of that, I nearly always wear a camisole or tank under my shirt. I also hardly ever wear nursing bras but instead prefer to wear a nursing tank. It keeps my belly covered (and therefore warmer and more modest) no matter what I wear when I’m nursing a baby.
The Signature Cotton Nursing & Maternity Tank is super comfortable! At 15 weeks pregnant, it is still a bit loose around the belly and fits everywhere else just right. I am confident I’ll be able to keep wearing this tank the whole pregnancy. It offers a good amount of breast support as well.
Everyday Lounge Joggers (Janessa)
I am in LOVE with these comfy lounge pants! They are buttery soft and just amazingly comfortable. I can tell that these will be my go-to house pants during my pregnancy and beyond! Because the waist is elastic with a drawstring to tie them into place, I’m confident I’ll be able to wear them my whole pregnancy and after the baby is born. They are so comfy that I highly doubt I’ll be retiring them after this baby is born. I’m gonna need a few more pairs in fact!
Of the 4 pieces of clothing I tried out from Kindred Bravely, these are my favorite! You definitely need a pair!
Everyday Nursing & Maternity T-shirt (Miranda)
This pocket tee has quickly become THE favorite! It’s so comfy and extremely stylish. The classic grey color looks great with everything and every time it’s laundered; it’s my go-to piece I grab! It currently comes in 3 color options (black, grey, and blush) and I want them all! Fingers crossed that Kindred Bravely adds the entire rainbow of color choices soon as I am completely obsessed with this top!
Martina Maternity & Postpartum Support Crop Leggings – pocket style (Miranda)
These leggings are ultra comfy and feature the full belly panel. Truthfully speaking, I’ve avoided the belly panel with my previous pregnancies as I thought it would feel restrictive. Turns out, I LOVE the belly panel! Not only does it give me support, it also provides me with the confidence I needed knowing my belly wouldn’t be peeking out below any of my tops. (I still like to wear a couple of my non-maternity shirts but I am always tugging them down as they just don’t cover the belly the way the maternity tops do.)
Ribbed Bamboo Maternity V-neck T-shirt (Miranda)
The Ribbed Maternity Top is available in five color choices but I went with grey again as it just goes with everything. It’s truly the perfect minimalist maternity top that is definitely an everyday essential for any expecting mama. Cool and comfortable, it adds the perfect amount of stretch for pregnancy and beyond.
Ribbed Bamboo Maternity Crew Neck T-shirt (Janessa)
I needed a shirt that would match with just about anything and be perfect for my grocery trips. It goes well with the comfy lounge pants but also pairs well with jeans or khaki pants. Like the V-neck t-shirt, this one is also available in 5 different colors. It’s very stretchy and yet not loose on the body (which I prefer).
Francesca Maternity & Postpartum Support Capri Leggings – pocket style (Miranda)
When I’m pregnant, I tend to get overheated so these capris are a great choice as we transition from summer to fall. Plus, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the fact that they come with the option of the ‘phone pocket’. They also come with the full belly panel which, as I stated above, I found out I love!
Under-the-Bump Bikini Underwear (5-Pack) (Miranda)
While I like my belly panel pants, I don’t like grandma undies so these under the bump bikini cut panties are a great choice for me. They are ultra soft, a little stretchy, and uber comfy. Women at all stages of pregnancy love the clever notched design of these panties, which offer full rear coverage with no rolling waistband.
Louisa Maternity & Postpartum Support Leggings (Janessa)
If you are looking for buttery-soft leggings, these are the ones for you! You can use them with a full belly panel or fold it over (which is what I like to do) for pants that fit below the belly. They hug all my curves just right and provide the perfect amount of support. I’m happy to have them as we head into the cooler months to keep my legs warm. I love a great pair of leggings and these are the highest-quality leggings I’ve ever owned!
