Solimar Spa Mall Of America Review
Last year, my husband and I stayed at Radisson Blu with all five kids. We decided to give each other a break and we each booked relaxing massages at alternating times. It was AMAZING and the perfect addition to our little family getaway. So this year, for the first time in 14 years, my husband and I decided to get away, just the two of us. And with that, the getaway wouldn’t be complete with a stop at Solimar Spa Mall of America.

Solimar Spa Luxury
Upon entering Solimar Spa Mall of America, you will immediately be transformed into a tranquil and luxurious world. The ambiance is the best I’ve ever experienced at any spa. After checking in, you will be given a heated neck wrap while filling out paperwork.
Once taken back for your service, guests are allowed to change into a robe and sandals, all provided by Solimar Spa.
After changing, there’s a small relaxation lounge with water, snacks, and magazines.
From there, you’re brought back to your room for the service you’ve booked.
Relaxation At Its Finest
This trip, my husband, Mike, received a 60-minute massage. His masseuse was exceptional. She said she took six years of schooling to become proficient in techniques. While Mike’s had massages before, he was extremely impressed with the quality of Solimar Spa & Salon. The pressure was not too hard or not too soft. Since we farm, his job is quite physical and, often, painful. But he left this massage feeling relaxed with his aches and pains gone.
A First Time Facial
I finally, for the first time in my life, received a facial! It’s something I’ve always wanted to do so it was such a great addition to our little adult getaway. And Solimar Spa did not disappoint! It was a glorious 60 minutes and the results left my skin feeling refreshed and clean. Such a great experience!
I left with knowledge that I didn’t have before, as well as an analogy. To put it simply, we go to the dentist to care for our teeth. We should also be sure to care for our skin to ensure the healthiest skin possible.
Convenience, Comfort, & A Must Do
In this busy world, it’s important to take time for some self-care. The time, effort, and cost is worth it as we only have one body and life to live!
Final Thoughts Of Our Solimar Spa Mall Of America Review
I’ve been to other full-service salons and spas before but none measure up to what Solimar Spa offers. From the second I stepped foot into this Spa, I felt like I was in a different world. The soft music, sleek design, beautiful set-up, and kind employees provide an experience unlike any other. Definitely, a must do!

I had the worst spa experience here last Thursday (1/17/19) Judging by your review, something has drastically changed.
Once I sat down, grabbed a magazine and waited for someone to call my name. There just happened to be a couple of spa personnel down the hall talking loudly and clearly enough for me to hear the daily drama at the spa!
Once I got on the massage table, the women were still outside my door talking and one of them screeched in a very loud voice, "What?" At this point, all I can think about is whether or not this lively conversation is going to continue the entire time I'm on the massage table?
When the therapist came back into the room, she immediately apologized for the loud voices. She told me that it was actually the salon owner that screamed! She then proceeded to tell me a bit of the dirt that was going on with an employee that must have left recently. Did I look like I really cared that much?
The massage itself was basically her rubbing some oil on me. There was no order, no consistency, no long strokes, no muscle or knot working out and she kept talking to me! Then came hot rocks! The rocks were too hot for her to proceed with the massage, so she thankfully didn't place them on my back until they were somewhat cooled off. This however stole precious time from the 75 minutes of the worst massage I've ever had. Also, I was in and out of that room in an hour! They advertise this massage as 75 minutes.
This was the absolute worst massage I have ever had, so I asked her " what kind of a massage is this?" She literally said this..."it's like a Swedish massage." Good grief! Really?
Now once she got to my feet, it got even worse. She started rubbing my feet really fast; like super-fast! When she got done with the first foot and started the second one, I told her she would need to slow down because this was not very relaxing. To which she made up some excuse about it softening my feet. What?!! That's baloney! I just had a great pedicure the day before this appointment! I don't need my feet softened, I was there for a massage!
Besides there being no real full body massage, she never even touched my arms. NOTHING FOR MY ARMS! Last I checked, my arms were a part of my body!
Another item to beware of is the sound being piped into the room. It competes with this constant sound of thunder that goes on and on and on.... that got old fast and definitely not relaxing while it only served to remind me of sitting in Rainforest Cafe!
Once back out to the receptionist desk the girls were there again sitting, waiting to ask me how it was and give me my bill. I told them how bad it was and gave them a few details. I didn't get much reaction as to how they might help make it better and one of the girls just sat there with a foot on a drawer or counter behind the desk. I told them to be sure and inform the owner about my experience. Since I haven't heard from the owner, I figure they never told her or she doesn't really care.
The prices are on the higher end, but I don't mind if I get what I'm paying for. The massage therapist assigned to me should NEVER command this high end price without further training or a real discussion as to whether or not she's working in her gifting.

Hi Cheryl,
Oh no! My husband and I have both had massages there (that we've paid for) and they were amazing! I'm so sorry that you had such a poor experience. I would highly suggest that you call and speak to the owner directly about your experience. All three times that we've been there for services, it's but extremely professional, calming, and relaxing. We were even planning another (non-sponsored) trip back this Spring because we've been so impressed. Thank you for sharing your experience and I can only hope that it was a new hire and that this will be taken care of swiftly for you.

I am so happy the two of you were able to take a weekend trip with no children. It is so important to continue dating! a massage and a facial are such wonderful treats. The Solimar Spa sounds like a lovely place to visit.

This looks like such a modern, nice place to visit! I've never been to a spa, but I think it would be a relaxing experience! Maybe I should drop the kiddos off at Grandma's one day and give one a try!
