This has been a POPULAR question among our friends and family over the past few days. I’m sure people must think we are crazy for taking such a long time to name our children. It’s probably more my fault than my husband’s. I take a long time to commit to a name these days. I like to use it with them for a few days to make sure I really feel good about the name and it truly seems to fit that child. And, for us, boys names are just harder!
It took us a number of days to name our last son, Gideon, and I have to admit that even after I said, okay, this will be his name and we sent off the birth certificate papers, I was still hesitant on if we’d chosen the right name or not. Fast forward 2 years and I can’t imagine him with any other name. It fits him so well and I’m really glad we chose that name.
For our newest baby we had a list about 10-15 name possibilities. And honestly, the name we chose was a late addition to the lineup but in the end, it won out. So, for those eager to find out what we named this little guy, his name is……….
Although we initially fell in love with the name Aram (pronounced air-um) because we liked the way it sounds, I think it also has a cool meaning. Aram is Hebrew and means “Father of a Multitude”. I suppose to some people, a name with that meaning might seem odd, or even have a negative connotation. But, certainly not to us!
Aram is our 6th child (5th living on earth) and, to many people, we have a “multitude” of children ourselves. I can’t imagine a greater joy than the joy my children bring me! They bless me every day! We are so very blessed to have Aram in our family and I hope one day he too will enjoy the blessings of his own children!
