As parents of 7 kids, it’s not always easy for my husband and I to get away for date nights. A friend of mine mentioned to me a few months ago that when she was in this season of life with her husband, they started doing weekly date nights at home and, as part of their date night, they would try a new drink together.

I loved this idea and my husband and I have decided to try doing this as well when we can. This weekend my husband and I tried a new drink – the Red, White & Merry Holiday Cosmo.

It was so good I wanted to share the recipe with all of you! It’s a great drink for the holiday season. I may have made us a second round tonight because we loved it so much!

Red, White, & Merry Holiday Cosmo

This drink recipe from Smirnoff features blends of orange, cranberry, and a twist of ginger and sage.

Ingredients

• 1.5 oz Red, White & Merry from Smirnoff
• 0.75 oz Lime Juice
• 0.50 oz Cranberry Syrup
• 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
• 2 dashes Orange Bitters
• Garnish: Sage Leaf

Directions

Shake all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Strain into martini glass. Garnish and serve.
