My kids discovered Playmobil about 2 years ago and have been huge fans ever since! When I was offered the opportunity to write a Playmobile Furnished School Building Toy review, I couldn’t pass it up! Thanks to Playmobil for sending us the set to try it out!
Playmobil Furnished School Building Toy Review
Playmobil Furnished School Building Description
School building with two classrooms, front office, staircase with integrated lockers, elevator, and restroom. The included digital clock has a school bell and can also be used as an alarm clock (2 x AAA batteries required). Expand this set with the Gym and History Class (9454 and 9455 – each sold separately) for added fun! Dimensions: 29.9 x 14.2 x 14.6 in (LxWxH).
Assembly
I knew that with such a large set the assembly would take a bit of time. I was right. You will need 2 AAA batteries, so make sure you have those ready (and a screwdriver) before you begin assembly.
The box said it would take 90 minutes to assemble. It took me a solid 2 hours. The pieces arrive in a lot of different bags and there doesn’t seem to be much rhyme or reason as to what pieces go in each bag. Some bags had coordinating pieces in them (a chair with the bottom of the chair) but other times I found myself having to dig through 3 different bags to complete one step in the assembly. I do wish Playmobil would streamline this somehow. I ended up eventually pouring out all of the pieces inside of the empty box and that made it easier to look through all of them for the piece I needed.
Durability
Once assembled, the Playmobil Furnished School Building seems to be quite durable, just like the other Playmobil playsets we have. It has rather large (probably obvious) and will need a large shelf or flat area to store when not being played with. Dimensions are 29.9 x 14.2 x 14.6 in (LxWxH).
Accessories
This set comes PACKED with tons of accessories, including a digital clock which has a school bell and can also be used as an alarm clock. It also comes with a lot of people and all the accessories you’d need for a school. Check out this image from Playmobil which shows all of the accessories:
Playmobil Furnished School Building Review
Playmobil has done it again with a great playset for kids! The school features so many cool details, including a bike rack, bathroom with 2 stalls (and toilets with lids that really raise and lower), and even a clear “cage” for placing animals in science class. In this instance, it’s a tarantula – eek!
Arguably, the favorite feature for kids has got to be the working elevator that takes people from the ground to the second level. The working clock is another great touch and the front doors open and close as well.
With so many great accessories, kids will have fun playing for hours! There are a number of backpacks that the students can choose from for their student(s).
Playmobil also offers a few add-ons for this school building, including a gym which expands the size of the building, and also a school bus, a geography class accessories set, a history class accessories set, and an art class accessories set.
Although this set does have some smaller pieces that could pose a choking hazard, I’d say that children will start enjoying playing with it from about the age of 3 and up (Playmobil recommends it for ages 5 and older).
