I had my anatomy ultrasound a few weeks ago and was able to find out the gender of our newest baby. Normally we do some kind of fun gender reveal with our other kids and this time wasn’t any different.
After my ultrasound and doctor’s appointment I stopped at Walmart to buy confetti poppers to announce it. I had thought about doing something else more elaborate but my kids were insistent on wanting to know THAT day as soon as possible. They were so excited to find out!
Well, apparently the confetti poppers I purchased were not well made (note to self, don’t get them at Walmart anymore) and some of the confetti was noticed by one of my children poking out of the top as I was setting up the camera to film.
So, I don’t have a cute video or photos to share from the moment everyone found out but I’m still excited and thrilled to share that we’ll be having another baby BOY this fall.
Can you believe it? 6 boys, 5 of them all in a row.
My girls were, yes, a bit disappointed. They had really been hoping for another little sister. But they are still very excited and eager to meet their little brother!
They especially got excited when I told them they could help me pick out a few new items for their baby brother. What girl doesn’t love shopping for baby stuff?!
Even some of my boys got into the shopping too. Everyone is just so excited for another sweet baby to love!

Zippered Footie and Matching Cap in Emerald
I wanted a zippered footie with matching hat for newborn photos at the hospital and Zellene helped me pick this set out in Emerald. Her favorite movie is The Wizard of Oz so I think it may have been a nod to that.
I love the beautiful green color and can’t wait to put it on him! The bamboo fabric is SO soft! It features a dual zipper (so you can unzip from the bottom for diaper changes) and fold-over cuffs to help prevent those newborn scratches.

Crib Sheet in The Very Hungry Caterpillar™ and Friends
My youngest son, Matthias, has been obsessed with The Very Hungry Caterpillar for the past few months. We read the story a few times a week. He was so excited to see this new crib sheet and pick it out for his new baby brother.

Sleep Bag Swaddler in Oat 1.0
Swaddling has helped my newborn babies sleep so much better. I haven’t tried any swaddles from Kyte Baby with my other newborns but I’m excited to give them a try this time around.
Like other Kyte Baby items, it’s buttery soft for maximum comfort. It’s rated at 1.0 TOG which means it’s perfect for temperatures between 69-73°F

Zippered Footie in Midnight Icon
Most of my kids are big Harry Potter fans. It’s one of the series we like to watch in the fall and, since this little guy will be born around the end of October/early November, I couldn’t pass up this Harry-Potter-themed zippered footie for him!
They were so excited about it! I know I have a white knotted cap from Kyte as well that we can use to pair with it. It will be fun to let him wear this while the rest of us sip butterbeer and watch the movies while I’m recovering postpartum.

New baby, new stroller!
Joolz is a brand I hadn’t heard of until just a few weeks ago. Have you heard of Joolz? They are a stroller brand with a couple of different stroller options to suit your needs.
You could say that I like strollers the way men like cars. When I’m given the opportunity to test drive a new one, I don’t often turn it down! This time around I’m going to be checking out the Joolz Hub² Compact Stroller with Carrycot.

Snuggle Me Lounger Curve
The debate over baby loungers has been ongoing for quite a few years. I have used a lounger with my last 3 babies with great success and plan to continue using one with our new little guy.
My babies have all liked them so much. I also have a toddler sized lounger and it’s always made the transition to them sleeping in their own bed so easy. Matthias, who is almost 3 years old, still insists on sleeping in his toddler-sized lounger every night.

3-Pack Prep Silicone Suction Plates & Spoons
About a year ago I went through my kitchen and got rid of as much plastic as I could. That meant that I also ditched all of my plastic kids plates. I was so happy to see that KeaBabies offers silicone plates now because I definitely can’t give our new baby the stoneware dishes the rest of us use.

I’d already gotten a BIBS Try-It Collection in a gender-neutral color (vanilla) but once we found out we were having a boy I got a second set in this sweet baby blue color.

As I mentioned earlier, my 2-year-old, Matthias, is obssessed with The Very Hungry Caterpillar. It’s his favorite book. We read it all the time.
Matthias is also quite the mama’s boy, like, a major mama’s boy. Initially he didn’t seem very excited about adding a baby to our family.
He has always been “baby”. I started talking to him right away about how he could be my big helper when the baby comes and that changed everything for him. Now he is SO excited for his baby brother and talks to me about him all the time.
When I showed him the Eric Carle baby toys he got really excited about getting some for his brother and picked out two for him.

The other toy Matthias helped me pick out is this stuffed animal. It’s so neat because thanks to a zipper on the top you can make the caterpillar turn into a butterfly!
Obviously our new baby won’t be ready for this stuffed animal right away, but I thought it would be great to sit on the couch together – the new baby, Matthias, and me – and read the board book. When we get to the end when he changes into the butterfly, Matthias can transform it for us. I think it will really help him to feel included as I care for his new brother.

Use it warm to help soothe stiff muscles, ease menstrual cramps, relax at bedtime, or use it cold to help inflammation, ease pain from bumps & bruises, or cool you off on hot summer days. They’re infused with lavender so they smells great too!

Warm Pals Scented Glow in The Dark Ghost
My little boy is due on October 29th. None of my babies have arrived before or on their due date BUT there is a chance he will make his appearance on or before Halloween.
I thought it would be fun to have this ghost plush pal handy for photos, just in case he’s here on time. Isn’t it cute?! It’s about 8.5 inches tall so perfect for photos with our little guy.
Whether our new baby arrives before or after Halloween, it will still come in quite handy! I can warm the ghost in the microwave and then use the heat to help with afterbirth cramps.
I can also warm it and then place the ghost close to the baby in the bassinet to mimic the feeling of a warm body next to him.
This one is extra fun because is glows in the dark too! While we wait for him to arrive I’ll probably set it out on our entry way bench as part of my fall decorations.
