Summer is my favorite season, and what better way to enjoy it than with a baby?! I love the sunshine, heat, and the ability to get outdoors with my family. Having a new baby in the house means that you’ll need a few additional supplies to help you enjoy summer to the fullest. Today I wanted to share with you my list of must-have summer items for baby.
Must-Have Summer Items for Baby
My list of must-have summer items for baby will give you some great ideas of things to get for your little one this summer!
Every sweet baby girl needs an adorable summer dress! Feltman Brothers is the place to go to find classic, well-made clothes for your little ones. Handmade details of this Feltman Brothers dress include a chevron-smocked bodice with a scalloped ruffle collar, rosebud bullions, and basket weave ribbon.
This dress is perfect for summer photos, church, or just looking adorable in her daily life! It's available in sizes 3M-4T.
It's so important to protect your baby's head when you're out in the sun during the summer. Feltman Brothers Secret Graden Bonnet is a beautiful and adorable way to protect your little girl's head. It's also the perfect accessory to the Feltman Brothers Sleeveless Secret Garden Dress. Available in both white or pink, the bonnet comes in sizes NB/3M, 6/9M and 12/24M.
Maybe you have a little boy instead of a girl. Don't worry, Feltman Brothers has so many adorable, classic baby boy clothes as well.
Your little boy will look sharp and charming in this adorable Sailor Bobby Suit. Check out the nautical-themed details all over this outfit - crossed binding on the collar, double binding at the cuffs, and a sailor necktie beneath the collar to add the finishing touch. The crisp white shirt buttons down the front and is fastened into the pants with four button closures - two on the front and two on the back.
The Sailor Bobby Suit is available in navy and blue colors in sizes 3M-4T. I have this outfit in blue for my youngest little guy and he looks absolutely adorable!
Summer might be looking different for your family this year because of the current virus situation, but there are still ways to get outside and enjoy the sunshine with your little one. Whether you're going for walks at the park or just around your neighborhood, having a good quality stroller is so important.
When you're traveling, a great lightweight, compact stroller is a must! I'm loving this new Go with Me Dart stroller from Baby Delight!
The Go With Me Dart Ultra-Compact Stroller was designed to go anywhere. With its comfortable cushioned seat and expandable leg rest, your little one will always be comfy. Because safety is a priority for Baby Delight, the 5-point harness will be sure to keep your baby secure. Additional features of this stroller an extra-large storage basket under the stroller as well as a large retractable canopy.
If you'll be traveling by plane, the Dart can be easily folded with just one hand, put into the included carry-bag and stored in the overhead compartment on an airplane or train. Because it folds so small, it's also perfect for road trips since it won't require a lot of trunk space. (Trust me, you'll be taking a lot of other baby gear with you, so any way to save space is a huge help!)
For me, it's so important to have a quality video monitor and I especially love this monitor from VTech because it comes with a parent screen unit PLUS you can download their app to check in from further distance. This is super helpful if you want to go outside and work in the garden, clean out the garage, etc.
This monochrome polka dot nursing cami is made for sleep with luxurious modal fabric and a built-in shelf bra for comfortable support. Pair it with the matching shorts for a pair of pajamas you'll want to wear every night! It's perfect to keep you cool on those warm evenings.
This set is designed to be worn during both pregnancy and while breastfeeding your new baby.
I have this set and absolutely love it! It's able to hold my breast pads in place during the night so I don't leak all over my bed and it's super soft and comfortable too. It features easy-feed drop-down cups to make middle-of-the-night feedings as easy as they can be too.
After using this set for a few weeks, I give it two thumbs up!
You'll probably be going out a lot during the summertime and you definitely don't want to be out with a lot of baby spit up all over you! Yuck, that would not smell very good in the summer heat! KeaBabies burp clothes are the perfect way to keep you and your baby free of drool and spit-up. Plus, check out these adorable limited-edition prints they just released!
If you're a breastfeeding mom, having a quality nursing tank top should be at the top of your must-have list. When the warm summer weather hits, many days at home I live in my nursing tanks, especially during those early days of breastfeeding when you're trying to establish a good latch.
I love nursing tanks and hardly ever wear a regular nursing bra. In the winter months, they are an extra layer to keep you warm while you're lifting your shirt to feed baby. In the summer you can wear them on their own to keep you cool.
One thing I've learned is that you get what you pay for when it comes to nursing tanks. When I had my first child, I purchased 2 cheap tanks. They bunched up under my clothes and didn't look good enough to wear on their own. They also were not very supportive. I learned my lesson and now, even though these nursing tanks for Cake Maternity are priced more moderately, they are more than worth it! They hold up well to washings and look great under your clothing or on their own.
Shoes are a must-have for babies this summer. They help to protect baby's delicate feet from the sun, are a fun way to accessorize and can protect those precious little toes.
When looking for baby shoes, make sure you check out stride rite! They carry all sizes from little kids up to big kids in medium, wide and extra-wide sizes, too! They have every color and style you could imagine. Plus, they have accessories like socks, tights, slippers, and hair accessories.
As a breastfeeding mom, one of the things I have found helpful for summer road trips is a hands-free pumping bra, like this one from Simple Wishes.
All of my babies have hated riding in the car (except for my newest baby - yay!). Sometimes when we would travel by car, my babies would have a hard time with it.
Look, I'm not encouraging this but one time, in desperation, I leaned over the car seat while my husband was driving and breastfed my baby for a few minutes so he would fall asleep. It was not comfortable or safe for me. I screaming baby in the car will lead you to sometimes make choices you would not normally do. I know what you're thinking, "why not stop the car, feed the baby, then put him back in his car seat." Trust me, we tried that. My babies would always wake back up when buckling them in and get super upset, again.
Since then, I've gotten smarter! I take bottles and a pump along when we travel and if things get bad, I'll pump and give my little one a bottle on the go. It has really helped make some of our road trips less stressful for us!
Of course, every baby is going to need sun protection while having water fun this summer. Green Sprouts makes sun protective clothing, swimwear, sunglasses, hats and so much more. They have everything a parent could need to keep this little one sun ready while remaining safe and stylish this summer.
Check out all that they have to offer on their website!
We can't forget the mama's to these summer-loving babies! If you are a nursing mama, you will want to check out Undercover Mama's line of nursing tops. They have several styles, colors, patterns, and sizes on their website. Plus, they have nursing tank tops, dresses, and things for the baby.
Making nursing on the go super easy this summer with nursing tops from Undercover Mama.

So many cute items!! I love the KeaBabies Organic Burp Cloths... the prints are adorable and burp cloths were super helpful those first few months with all of my kiddos. I love the banana bibs. They are great for teething so you don't have to change their clothes so much. The Pop N Play playyard looks great too! I love the canopy on top.
