I’ve used a lot of different brands of swaddles over the years and I have to say, my #1 favorite has been the Love to Dream Swaddle Up swaddles. Why? Because my babies have loved them! They love being able to have their hands up by their faces. No more fighting from them to try to free their hands. Trust me, Love to Dream is a swaddle you and baby will love! I used them for Aram and also Killian when they were babies. I wish I had had them for my other babies!
This is my sweet little Aram wearing one of his Love to Dream Swaddles. If we have any more babies, I will definitely make sure I have an ample supply of Love to Dream swaddles on hand!
Recently Love to Dream launched a new line at Walmart, Love to Dream Essentials. Currently, you can find Love to Dream Swaddle Up and Love to Dream Transition Bag in the Essentials line. Here are the details:
Love to Dream Swaddles Up Essentials
When you place your baby to sleep on their back, their natural position is for their arms to go up. The Love To Dream Swaddle UP features a patented design that allows you to swaddle your baby with their arms up in this more natural position.
The medical reason behind baby’s desire to have access to their hands is that when they wake up at night, they want to self-soothe, which is simply stroking their cheeks or sucking on their hands. If they are swaddled with their arms restricted, they cannot do this, which causes them to wake, get frustrated, and try to get out of traditional swaddles.
The Swaddle UP is a stretchy blend of Cotton and Elastane designed to be snug and cozy around their torso, contain baby’s arms, and thereby calm the startle reflex, encouraging a long, restful night’s sleep for Mom and baby.
The Swaddle UP is safer than swaddling your baby with traditional blankets. With the Swaddle UP, there are no difficult wrapping techniques required and no risk of loose blankets in your baby’s crib. The Swaddle UP’s dual zippered design allows you to do diaper changes while keeping baby swaddled and has no pesky snaps, noisy Velcro or tricky wrapping, ensuring that your baby stays comfortably swaddled all night. In addition, the Swaddle UP has plenty of room for baby to move their legs and hips, and recently received recognition from the International Hip Dysplasia Institute (IHDI) as being a ‘Hip Healthy’ product.
The Love To Dream Swaddle UP Essentials is 1.0 TOG which means the fabric is ideal for moderate temperatures between 68°F and 75°F.
Love to Dream Essentials Transition Bag
Babies between two to three months grow fast, and when they start showing signs of rolling over – either front to back OR back to front – or show signs that their startle reflex has diminished, they are ready to transition from swaddle to arms-free sleeping. This transition can sometimes be hard because babies may still have some startle reflex present and they are used to being swaddled. The Love To Dream team designed the Transition Bag – which is Stage 2 in Love To Dream’s 3 Stage Sleep System – to make this transition easy for both baby and parents.
The Transition Bag shares the same features as the Swaddle UP, but with the added versatility of patented zip-off wings. The Transition Bag will gently transition your baby from sleeping snuggly swaddled towards having the independence of sleeping with his or her arms free. The zipper design makes it easy to go back to the original swaddle design if your baby is not ready to transition. Once your little one is comfortable with both wings removed, the Transition Bag can be used like a snug and comfy wearable blanket, but with baby still feeling swaddled.
The Love to Dream Essentials Transition Bag is also 1.0 TOG. It’s available in sizes medium and large.
