I’m a huge believer that kids need to get outdoors and away from screens. As a matter of fact, several years ago, we found ourselves allowing more and more screen time as a way to reward the kids and because it made them happy. So while in the moment, it seemed great; we paid dearly. It didn’t take long to realize the crabbiness, bad attitudes, and constant “I’m bored” that resulted once screen time was over correlated directly with them getting that extra time. We drew a line in the sand and decided we were done. We got rid of our television (for a couple years, now it’s back but with a DVD player only — no streaming, cable, or any other option here) and began to allow screen/device time for 1 1/2 hours on Saturday morning.

Benefits We’ve Seen From Limiting Screen Time
While the initial transition was hard and it took a few days of the kids asking before they realized we were serious about the lifestyle change, it’s been absolutely for the better. Benefits we’ve seen from limiting screen time include:
- Better attitudes
- No more begging to play computer/phone games, watch movies, etc. ALL THE TIME. They know if it’s not Saturday morning, don’t ask.
- More time to be creative and use our imaginations
- They get to enjoy family more as now they are free from screen addiction and are happy to play board games, build puzzles, etc. with each other.
- We spend so much more time outdoors riding bikes, playing with kitties, enjoying the farm, driving 4-wheeler, shooting bow & arrow, and playing in our sandbox and on the playground.
After implementing our limited screen time, we’ve seen the kids really flourish. But let me be clear, while official screen time is for 90 minutes each Saturday; it’s not that we NEVER waiver. We still have family movie nights and if a child is sick, we’ll allow some movie time. So there are exceptions to our rule. With that said, I think most families would benefit from cutting back on the screens.

Lifetime Double Adventure Tower Playset Review
Along with all the newfound freedom that limited screen time has afforded us, we’ve seen the kids spending a ton of time outdoors now. So earlier this summer when a storm tipped over and destroyed our playground as well as damaged our trampoline; the kids were heartbroken. Thankfully, Lifetime just released their new Double Adventure Tower Playset, geared for ages 3-12, and sent me one for review!
The best part is the kids had a few ‘requirements’ for a new playground: it must have two towers, bridge, and monkey bars. (They play a game called ‘Sandman’ and I guess these features are just required for a really fun game, in their opinion.) The Lifetime Double Adventure Tower Playset checked off every box!
Assembly
After clearing away the debris from our old playground, the kids excitedly awaited the arrival of their new play set!

I’ll admit when we first saw the crate and found the (very thick) assembly instruction manual, we did panic a bit. My husband has assembled a lot of things in his life and used to be a diesel mechanic so he’s pretty handy but he admits he was a little intimidated at first. A good part of that was timing. We’re trying to finish up combining corn, plowing, making cornstalk bales, and the rest of fall field work and he was concerned at how long this would take. Life on the farm is just never boring! However, after calling and finding out there wasn’t assembly available in our area, we decided to move full steam ahead.

We began assembly on a Saturday afternoon with three men. They spent about two hours working on it and got the first tower about half way assembled. Throughout the next week, my husband, kids, and I would work on it in the evenings for an hour or two at a time. The following Saturday, we had three adults (and a couple kids) finish up; which took another three or so hours. So all in all, not too bad. The instructions were VERY well laid out, pieces and boxes labeled well, and the entire process was actually quite smooth. So don’t let the size scare you as Lifetime did an amazing job in making the assembly as painless as possible.

The Results:
To say the kids were excited would be an understatement! They’ve been using the playground daily since it’s been completed; most often for hours at a time. This playset would truly make an amazing addition to any yard!

Features Of The Lifetime Double Adventure Tower Playset
There is so much to do on this Double Adventure Tower Playset! The kids have been using all aspects of it every single time they head out to play. Check out some of the features below:
5 ft. Tall Decking With Hard Top Tower Roof
The towers are really neat. Each one features a hard top roof which helps protect children from the sun as well as other weather elements. Plus, the kids think they just look ‘really cool’!

Doorways Clubhouse
Under each tower is a clubhouse. The kids especially love the fact there’s two because it works well with imaginative play as they capture the ‘bad guys’ and put them in jail. Other days, they use them as ‘houses’. The possibilities are endless!

Rock Climbing Walls
Each tower features multiple rock climbing wall panels which adds to the fun. Each wall leads up to a tower with an opening and hand grips to climb up in.

9 ft. Wavy Slide
Both towers come equipped with a 9 foot wavy slide for double the fun. Whether sliding down or climbing up (as we all know that many kids love to do!), these slides are fun for kids both little and big.

Steering Wheel
One of the towers features a steering wheel. It’s perfect for any kiddo who loves to pretend to drive or fly their castle tower away.

Trapeze
Definitely a source of entertainment, the trapeze bar hangs off the far side of the monkey bars. The kids love to hang, sit, swing, and ‘do tricks’ from it.

Arched Climber
On the back side of each tower, you’ll find an arched climber. These are close enough together that kids can reach them without touching the ground (or ‘hot lava’ — my kids aren’t the only ones who play this, right?). These arched climbers allow for quick escapes or climbs up to the towers.

Car Map
Both towers feature a car map, embedded on the floors. This is such a unique and fun detail I’ve never seen before on any other playground.

Swings
Every playground needs swings and the Lifetime Double Adventure Tower Playset comes equipped with two. I suppose the only complaint my kids would have on this is the fact that there’s not three or four so more can enjoy swinging at once.

Storefronts
The clubhouses feature window and doorways, perfect for playing store or chatting with each other across the way.

Bridge
The must-have bridge connects the two towers to one another and really adds to the fun. Well made and sturdy, it offers so many options during all the pretend play.

Monkey Bars
As we all know, monkey bars are a classic playground feature that kids love and my kiddos are no different. Whether zipping across, hanging around, or sitting on top; they provide so much fun that the kids don’t even realize they’re building muscles and working on skills as they play!

Fireman’s Pole
At the end of the monkey bars, the kids can choose to climb back down the ladder or slide down the fireman pole. As you can imagine, the pole is definitely most popular.

Final Thoughts: Lifetime Double Adventure Tower Playset Review
As you can see, this playset is loaded with fun things to do. We’ve been playing on it daily and the kids’ enthusiasm hasn’t wavered at all! It’s a fantastic playground that’s sure to keep kids of all ages busy and active for hours a time.
Plus, adults will appreciate the low maintenance design as the Lifetime Double Adventure Tower Playset requires NO staining and NO painting! It’s also UV and all-weather resistant so it will maintains it’s strength and color over time as well as it will not crack, rot, warp, or splinter.

Overall, we are so pleased with every aspect of the Lifetime Double Adventure Tower Playset. The kids have been spending so much time outside on it already. It’s extremely high quality and very well made. Christmas is coming soon so if you’re on the hunt for a WOW gift for the family, this is definitely it!

Hi Melissa,
I just looked and it's still listed in the description of this set (even though the photos don't appear to show it). So I'm assuming it's still part of the design: -1 Trapeze Bar and Monkey Bars -Two Towers with Connecting Bridge -Soft Rubber Grips on Swing Chains to Prevent Pinching or Snagging -Fireman's Pole -Monkey Bars -1 Trapeze Bar and 2 Swings -Two Slides – One on each Tower -Steering Wheel
