No Power Source Needed

This lunch box is a bit different but in a good way! This self-heating lunch box has a built-in, rechargeable lithium-ion battery so that you can enjoy a warm meal anywhere. It’s perfect for taking to work, school, on hikes or picnics, when traveling or road tripping and will actually heat for up to 35 minutes on a full charge.

Plug & Car Adapter Included

I love that they included both a car adapter charger as well as a wall plug in charger. This lets users charge the battery at home or on the go.

How To Use Your HONEYBEAN HOME Battery Powered Lunch Box

It was really simple to get started with using my HONEYBEAN HOME Battery Powered Lunch Box. After it arrived, I unboxed it an removed all packaging. Then I plugged it in and gave it the initial charge. (NOTE: It says to charge fully for 6 hours prior to use and that the light on the lunchbox will be solid white once fully charged.) Mine must have been partially charged as it only took a couple hours to turn white.

After it was charged, I removed the stainless steel tray and lid and washed with hot soapy water. I dried and filled it with the meal.

When I was ready to heat the meal, I pressed the power button two times and the light turned a solid red. The unit has 35 minutes of heating battery life on a full charge. Once there’s just 10 minutes power left, the light began to flash green and red, alerting me.

During the heating, the outside of the unit becomes fairly warm to the touch but not so overly hot that I am unable to hold it.

Questions & Answers

1. Can I charge and heat at the same time? In short, no. The box needs a full charge to heat your meal so plan accordingly and make sure to charge the unit the night before it’s needed.
2. Is there a timer? There is no automatic timer that enables you to leave the lunchbox sit and turn on by itself. You need to push the button to activate it.
3. Is the temperature adjustable? The temperature is not adjustable but this is also a good thing. I just have to push the button and forget about it. No need to worry about getting too hot or too cold which means no burnt food either!
4. Do I need water to heat my meal? Nope, no water bath needed! The battery powers this box and warms your lunch tray.
5. How do I care for this lunch box properly? Wipe the outside heating ‘bin’ with a damp rag as necessary. And because this product has a built in battery, it’s important to use at least once every three months to ensure the best battery health possible.

Final Thoughts And Results

The HONEYBEAN HOME Battery Powered Lunch Box is super easy to use. The minimal effort it takes to ensure I have a hot meal on the go is very much worth it. I find the end result to be a sufficiently warm, not too hot, meal in just 35 minutes. If you stir your food once done, it becomes evenly warmed to the perfect temp. The size of the container is decent for a balanced adult meal, however if you’re a big eater, you probably want to also pack a side salad and some fruit.

My teen has already said she would like to take this along to college next year when she has a full day of classes as it would be an easy way to have home-cooked food during a busy day of school.
