Great Wolf Lodge Is A Perfect Place For Family Reunions and Large Groups

The Great Wolf Lodge Is Family-Friendly

We’ve done a variety of family vacations, getaways, and staycations but one of our favorites is definitely the Great Wolf Lodge. They are so family-friendly! We recently were able to do a large extended family getaway there and I’ll be sharing all the things we loved.

First off, my top reason for choosing Great Wolf Lodge is simply because they are great with all ages. There are so many fun things to do there and it truly feels like they have something for everyone.

We went with 22 people ranging in age from just turned 1 years old all the way up to 69. (There were 8 adults total and the rest were children who were 1 to 17.)

Reach Out For Planning Help

The Great Wolf Lodge team is knowledgeable and good at what they do. Definitely reach out to them with questions on group offerings and to help you make your event a success.

They have a variety of options available that make a group stay awesome including private meeting and gathering rooms, private buffets and food offerings, and more. You’ll be able to have time socializing with your crew as well as enjoying everything the entire resort has to offer.

So Many Things To Do!

With so many different activities and options of entertainment, all 22 of us were able to keep quite busy. Whether doing things altogether as a large group or splitting up into smaller pods, you’ll find the variety to satisfy everyone.

The Waterpark

Of course, probably the biggest draw of why we chose the Great Wolf Lodge for this large family staycation was because of the waterpark. I love how the rooms come with wristbands so we could enjoy it every day of our stay.

The waterpark at Great Wolf Lodge Bloomington is ginormous!

There are several large slides, one of the best lazy rivers (SO LONG!) I’ve ever seen, a good-sized children’s play area, a side pool, a wave rider (surfing anyone!?), an awesome wave pool, and more.

We have been to our fair share of water parks and Great Wolf Lodge has been our absolute favorite to date. Their facility is just so clean, welcoming, and fun. The water park area is comfortable and the water and air are both warm.

While there is plenty of seating and space throughout the water park to rest, you can also choose to rent a cabana if you prefer some extra privacy, mini fridge, waters, and a television.

First, I’ll talk to you about the free activities that are included in your stay.

I feel like all too often, the youngest of family members tend to get forgotten about when it comes to family reunions and large gatherings. They usually end up just sitting around bored.

This won’t be the case for Great Wolf Lodge! There are plenty of free activities for lodge guests that kids and families can partake in. Be sure to check out some of the options which may include:

One way to save money is to purchase an experience pass for your kids! Great Wolf Lodge offers Pup Passes, Paw Passes, and Wolf Passes; each featuring a variety of activities, snacks, and fun at a discounted price. From our experience, if you’re staying a minimum of two nights and the kids love extras, we find buying a pass tends to be a great option!

Check Out Our North Woods Suite Video Tour

We love Great Wolf Lodge rooms and this time, had the fantastic North Woods Suite for our family! This suite sleeps 9 and was a great fit for us. (We have six kiddos, ages 1, 8, 10, 12, 15, and 17.)

The living room area made for a nice space for our entire group of 22 to gather a couple times a day to hang out and snack together as well. It was a bit tight at times but with our group having so many children, it worked out well for us.

Thoughts On Our Most Recent Large Family Group Stay

We had the absolute BEST time at Great Wolf Lodge Minnesota! From fun in the water park to sitting in the lobby around the fireplace, we made so many great memories.

This resort was the perfect setting for our group vacation!

We spent four glorious days enjoying all that Great Wolf Lodge offers and the kids still weren’t ready to go! By the end of our stay, we had six kids become Master Magi’s and others still working towards that goal and wanting to get a start on the Totem Quest.

I think our group got to enjoy almost all the amenities and fun that Minnesota’s Great Wolf Lodge has to offer. Every kiddo in our group opted to get a Wolf Pass as it was the perfect way to fill our non-waterpark hours.

Watching all those cousins running around, playing games, doing the ropes course, and enjoying the arcade together is something they will remember for a long time.

After checking out on our last day, our entire crew headed over to the Mall of America and spent even more time together. It was so neat to hear all the chatter about our week and how much fun everyone had.
