Graco sent me their Nimble Nook Playard at no cost, for me to facilitate this review.

The Nimble Nook promises to have several great features, the one I was most excited about was fitting it through doorways!! Any parent that has had their hands on a full-sized playard knows the frustration of having to collapse it just to move it into a different room. You’ve probably even experienced having your sleeping child inside and wanting to move it to a different room. Hah! No chance there.

The Nimble Nook won my love at that very moment… when I first saw it fit through my doorway. *insert happy Mama dance*

If you’re like me, instructions are for the birds. Who needs them, right? Usually a little finagling here and following your gut go a long way in getting the job done. Well, baby gear isn’t always the best place to practice illiteracy. The instructions are there for a reason, baby‘s safety!

When installing the mattress pad while the playard is in bassinet mode it is important to notice the warning label. My gut said “Oh, just fold it in half and plop it in! Easy, simple, done!” Wrong. The proper way actually has the excess mattress pad fold upward into a little pocket on either side of the bassinet. The first side slides in quite nicely, while the second takes some pushing and shoving. While my way may be easier, it’s not safe for the babes.

It’s really fantastic how unobtrusive the Nimble Nook is and equally fantastic that it grows with your baby. My not-so-little 20mo old has plenty of room to play and sleep.

The bassinet option is perfect for newborns! Little Wyatt has sadly graduated from that stage though, at 4mo he’s just a little too big to fit comfortably in there.

I would highly recommend adding this to your baby need list. It’s so compact, easy to use and stylish. It’s easy to transport, whether that be from room to room in your house or from destination A – B. It folds 20% smaller than a full sized playard, so it’ll be way easier to fit the 50 things you’ll be bringing with you on your trip, just for baby, into your car.
