Graco Mackenzie 5-in-1 Upholstered Convertible Crib Review

Sharing is caring!

I’ve partnered with Storkcraft for this post.

With our newest baby due just two weeks from now, it was time to get the nursery ready for his arrival! That meant moving my older 2 boys into a room together (which they were thrilled about!) and, thanks to my friends at Storkcraft, we also spent the weekend setting up a new crib in the nursery! We were sent the Graco Mackenzie 5-in-1 Upholstered Convertible Crib along with the Graco Premium Foam Mattress in a Box to review and I’m so excited to tell you about them today!

My Review of the Graco Mackenzie 5-in-1 Convertible Crib

My husband is not a huge fan of assembling furniture but, with his wife 38 weeks pregnant, the job fell on his shoulders. As he was about 5 minutes into the process I walked into the nursery and he proclaimed, “You tell those people at Storkcraft that I love them!”

I thought he was being sarcastic because normally he has a lot of things to say about how horribly a product was designed and how hard it is to assemble. (Since we review a lot of things, he has assembled his fair share of items over the years!) I literally had to ask him if he was being serious or not because I can count the number of times on 1 hand where he talked so highly of a product during the set-up process. And he WAS! He said this crib is one of the easiest pieces of furniture he’s ever assembled. Everything was neatly labeled and the directions were easy to follow.

Once assembled, my husband and I agreed that this crib appears to be quality made and we love the simplistic and modern styling of it.

We had already decided to paint the nursery gray with white trim and I absolutely love the look of the white with gray upholstery Graco Mackenzie crib in the nursery! I think it looks great against the gray background and is perfect for a boy or girl’s room.

At a price point of just $199, this crib is a steal! You can purchase this crib at Walmart.

There is not one thing I can find to complain about with this crib and I can’t wait to use it with our little boy!

My Review of the Graco Premium Foam Mattress in a Box

I’ve tried other foam mattresses in the past, but never realized they were making these for crib/toddler sized beds, until now. This mattress was so easy to bring into our home and carry up a flight of stairs into the nursery. After it was removed from the packaging, it started to expand immediately. (Note – it takes 48 hours to fully expand.)

Unlike other foam mattresses we’ve had in the past, I was pleased that this one didn’t have any strong odors accompanying it. That’s important to me since our baby will be sleeping on it! It did have a mild smell initially, but as I let it expand, the smell dissipated quickly.

As the mattress was expanding, I noticed that one side was flatter than the other. So, I removed the cover so it would receive the best airflow. Just like you would do with a pillow, I spent some time fluffing it. I also stepped all over the mattress and pushed all around on the corner that was lower. Then I went to bed. In the morning, it was much better! I’d recommend that you give your mattress the full 48 hours to expand before you put it in the crib. Flip it over every few hours and fluff it if it doesn’t seem to be expanding evenly.

Now that it’s expanded, the mattress looks even and feels quite comfortable. Not too soft and not too hard. I think it will be perfect for our baby!

I was also happy to see that the Graco Premium Foam Mattress in Box comes with a zip-on cover that is water resistant. We haven’t had any liquid spill on it yet since it’s brand new, but I will update this post when we do. (It’s inevitable with a baby!) We have waterproof mattress pads already and I plan to use one of those underneath the sheet as an added layer of protection.

At a price point of about $50, this is probably one of the most affordable crib mattresses I’ve found! You can find it at Walmart.

Overall I’m quite pleased with both the Graco Premium Foam Mattress in Box and the Graco Mackenzie 5-in-1 Upholstered Convertible Crib and I can’t wait to use them with our new little baby in a few short weeks!

I would also love to try one of their Easy Walk-Thru Tall Metal Safety Gate! I think that the metal gives it such a nicer look. :)

I love the look of this crib! It's so simple and clean looking. That mattress sounds fantastic too! I think my only problem would be picking a color!

What a beautiful crib, I LOVE the upholstered headboard! I have never seen a crib like this before, and I think it gives it such a great look! We have one of their toddler beds and it is by far the best one I have ever owned! This would definitely be my first choice when getting a new crib for our next baby. :) I am so glad that it is so easy to assemble too, thank you so much for your review!
