I received a GoWISE Air Fryer to facilitate this sponsored post. All opinions are my own.
Over the last year or so, my husband and I have been actively trying to incorporate healthier ways of living. During the winter months, we head to a friend’s house and utilize their large indoor gym. This gives us a chance to be active, even when it’s cold outside. We play basketball, tennis, and even rock climb. There is also a large walking track so we can ride bikes, scooter, or walk/run too. But other than being diligent about staying active, we have also been working on our diet too. Some days, especially as foster parents, it’s easier to hit the drive-through for a meal. Not only is this harder on the wallet, it’s not doing our waistlines any favors either. But I’ve found an easy and healthier way to get meals and snacks on the table for my family with the help of my GoWISE Air Fryer.
Dinner, Snack, Or Dessert? No Problem!
I had recently heard the buzz about air fryers from moms on a local recipe sharing page. Last year, I already jumped on the Pressure Cooker Bandwagon and am so glad I did. But when I started hearing about all the benefits and perks of an air fryer, I really wanted to get my hands on one too. And if we’re going to be completely honest here, it was a doughnut recipe that really caught my eye! But I was thrilled to learn that the GoWISE Air Fryer could accommodate meals, snacks, and desserts.
What’s In The Box?
We received the GoWISE 8-in-1 Air Fryer XL 5.8 Qt in the gorgeous, eye-catching Chili Red color. In the box, there was the air fryer, recipe book, and instruction manual.
Easy To Use
When I opened my Air Fryer, I did try to figure it out a little before consulting the instructions. However, I quickly realized that I needed to know how to run a cycle and I wasn’t getting anywhere fast on my own. So I grabbed the instructions and quickly glanced through. And within just a few minutes, I knew what needed to happen. First, I washed and dried the basket and tray with hot soapy water. Then, we were ready to get cooking. Once the ingredients were in, it was just a few button pushes and we were frying away!
My very first go with my GoWISE 8-in-1 Air Fryer XL 5.8 Qt was the main course at lunch. I decided to whip together a healthier version of Chicken Wings and Drummies instead of deep-frying. So I placed our chicken in the fryer and let GoWISE get to work.
Did you know that you can layer some things in your fryer!? This is good to know if you’re hoping to get a few things ready at once.
Then, when everything was done, I served it up! My family loved it! Here is the Air Fryer Sriracha Honey BBQ Wings Recipe that I fixed.
All in all, even though it took a little time to cook, it was a fairly effortless meal for me! I loved being able to help my kids with school work, clean, and whip up my Yogurt Fruit Salad as a side without having to rush.
And because lunch was such a hit, I went right to work on dessert as soon as we were finished eating. First, though, I had to wash my Air Fryer. But I’m happy to report that it easily came clean with hot soapy water. Once dry, it was fetacukan time. (If you’ve never heard of fetacukan, you’ve never been to a Central MN celebration! It’s made at local church bazaars and Pioneer Days as well as other events. But, basically, it’s just fried bread covered in a cinnamon/sugar mixture.)
Fetacukan “Fried Bread” Recipe
This recipe is so simple and such a crowd pleaser. My family usually ends up buying several orders whenever we attend an event where it’s sold so the kids were over-the-moon excited that mom could whip it up too.
- 1 loaf frozen bread dough (thawed)
- 5 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 tablespoon cinnamon
*Cut the bread dough loaf into 16 equal portions. Place 5 slices into your GoWISE Air Fryer for 3-4 minutes at 350 degrees.
*While the bread is frying, combine the cinnamon and sugar in a bowl.
*Melt the butter in a pan.
*Once the bread is done, dip in butter, and then coat in cinnamon sugar mixture.
*Serve immediately (tastes best when hot).
This little guy just couldn’t wait! He had to stand guard the entire time his fetacukan was in the fryer.
To say that this was a hit is an understatement! I think this was the easiest and quickest dessert I’ve ever made. And the fact that everyone gave it rave reviews is just “icing on the cake” (or sugar on the doughnut!)
