God. Family. Football. is a coming-of-age docuseries following former pro football player, legendary high school football coach, and pastor Denny Duron. Denny comes out of a 30-year retirement from head coaching to lead the football program he founded at Evangel Christian Academy, back to national prominence.
Why You Need To See God. Family. Football!
First off, I just want to say how cool it is that NFL quarterback, Russell Wilson, is an executive producer for this film! Everyone loves a good comeback story or the underdog rising above. This film gave me all the warm and fuzzy feelings. Redemption is everyone’s goal with the perennial high school football powerhouse, 14 state championships in the last 20 years, coming off their worst season in school history.
Pastor Denny Duron has returned to the head coaching position to lead this talented group of kids, with dreams of playing in college and the NFL, into prominence on the field, all while molding them into future leaders. As the team faces struggle and triumph on and off the field, they are united by coach Duron’s formula for success: “God first, family second, and football third.” As a follower of Jesus myself, it was nice to see a film that showed people coming together to worship god and pray.

God. Family. Football. follows ex-football player and high school football coach Denny Duron. Duron returns to coach the Louisiana-based team that he once led. He has been retired for 30 years but decided to return to Evangel Christian Academy in Shreveport, LA. after the one-time high school football powerhouse fell on rough times. Once home to 14 state championships in the last 20 years, the team is now coming off its worst season in school history. The series focuses on the rebuild of the 2022 high school football season at Evangel Christian Academy, which has sent more football players to the NFL and NCAA Division 1 college football programs than any other high school in the state.
