Since we’re leading up to both summer AND Father’s Day, I decided it was time to celebrate.  So we dug out the grill, dusted it off, and fired it up.  Because once the sunshine and warmer temps hit, there’s nothing better than heading outdoors to enjoy it.  And with grilling being a favorite pastime of many, I thought it would be fun to share one of our favorite recipes.

First, the recipe!  We love foil packet meals at our house because the prep is usually simple but the clean up is even better!  So get ready to kick off summer and Father’s Day with some major flavor.

Ingredients

• 2 1/2 Pounds Sirloin Steak
• 1 1/2 Pound Bag Of Baby Potatoes
• 1 Red Pepper
• 1 Yellow Pepper
• 1 Orange Pepper
• 1 Green Pepper
• 3 Tablespoons Olive Oil
• 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
• 1/4 Teaspoon Citrus Pepper from PersonalizationMall.com's Bourbon Smoked Mini Spice Set
• 1 Teaspoon Bourbon Smoked Garlic Salt from PersonalizationMall.com's Bourbon Smoked Mini Spice Set
• 1 Teaspoon Onion Powder
• 1 Teaspoon Dried Parsley
• 1 Teaspoon Dried Oregano
• 1 Teaspoon Dried Thyme
• -------Fresh parsley optional for after food is done

Instructions

• Trim any fat off the Sirloin Steak and cut into 2 1/2-inch pieces.
• Slice or cut peppers into strips or pieces.
• In a large bowl, combine steak, potatoes, veggies, olive oil, and all the seasonings.
• Tear 6 pieces of 12x12 inch sheets of foil.
• Divide bowl contents between the foil sheets.
• Wrap the foil tightly around contents to form your foil packet meals.
• Grill over high heat for about 15 minutes on each side or till meat and veggies are cooked to desired doneness.
• Garnish with fresh parsley and serve.

Notes

*If you prefer your steaks medium, boil the potatoes for five minutes before adding to the bowl and completing the rest of the steps.

**You can also bake foil packets in the oven at 425 degrees for about 25-30 minutes if you can't or don't want to grill. Or if you prefer to cook more slowly, 325 degrees for 1 hour.

***Optional: Open the packets at the end for the final minutes of cooking to get a char to your steaks.

****You can always substitute out spices for another option if you don't have one on hand or just prefer a different flavor.

Delicious Meal With Very Little Effort – So Easy!

I really like that this recipe is truly easy.  Plus, you can easily customize by adding additional veggies as preferred or omitting as well.  (I will sometimes add mushrooms and onions when I make this as my husband loves them.)  Fresh vegetables and foil packet meals go hand in hand.  So utilize whatever you have growing in your garden or what your local grocery store has handy.

The steps are so simple.  Cut or dice up the meat and vegetables.  Then, just toss all the ingredients together in a bowl.  Mix well to coat everything with seasoning and olive oil.

While you can evenly distribute between your foil sheets, I customize for our family.  I tend to make a couple smaller packets for the younger kids and fuller packets for everyone else.
