Winter is in full force here in Minnesota and it’s cold! Recently, our van heater started acting up and only blows about half the time. We’ve had it in to get fixed but because it works sometimes, they haven’t been able to figure out what the problem is! Has anyone else ever dealt with this? It sounds like it’s blowing (noise wise) but nothing is coming out. Then all of a suddenly, it’ll just start to work. No rhyme or reason behind when and why. Sigh… So with this issue, it’s been even more important to have our garage heater going so we at least have a warm vehicle to start with. That’s where the G73 NewAir Electric Garage Heater comes in and I’m sending a big thank you to NewAir for partnering with me for this review.
G73 Newair Hardwired Electric Garage Heater
Installation
Because the G73 is a 240v, 30-amp unit, you or an electrician will need to hardwire it into a breaker. We just called our local electrician and he came out within two weeks and got the job done for us.
Then, you can choose to mount the heater on the wall or ceiling of your space, which keeps it safely out of the way of busy work areas. This means you can carry on, business as usual without worry. Personally, we chose to mount to our ceiling as that’s what worked best for our garage space. Hanging and getting it secure took less than ten minutes.
Features Of The G73 Garage Heater
- Heavy-duty exterior is meant to withstand the toughest of working conditions.
- The mounting bracket is designed for safe placement of the heater, away from busy work areas.
- A hardwiring system eliminates maintenance problems you’ll see with typical of propane heaters.
- UL certification and overheating protection guarantees you electrical safety and a unit you can trust.
- The adjustable louvers and tilt head works to give you control of where you direct your heat so you can set it where you need it most.
- The 6 speed heat adjustment knob allows you to set the blower higher or lower.
Heater Overview:
The G73 Hardwired Electric Garage Heater is NewAir’s most popular garage heater. Rugged and durable, this heater is built to stand up to the toughest working conditions.
The powerful fan will send perfect heat to 500 square feet of space. Once this heater is hardwired and connected, it will provide you with enough fan power to heat the typical two-car garage.
Final Thoughts
We are loving the G73 Garage Heater as it’s small in size but mighty in power! As soon as we unboxed for the first time, my husband immediately said how much nicer it was over the previous (other branded) one we had before. The G73 has been the perfect addition to our space and is doing a fantastic job in keeping our garage the temp we want during these chilly Minnesota winter days and nights.
We’ve even hung a second one in our utility room by the barn as we keep meds and other necessities in there that can’t freeze. This heater is easy to run and the blower can as adjusted as needed. The G73 heater is well made and we are super impressed with it.
The only update we’d love to see is having the temp adjustment knob on the front as opposed to the back would be handy. It works this way but it would be more convenient on the front. But overall, we love it!

Wow, this sounds like a very high quality, sturdy garage heater. It's crazy how something so small can heat a whole garage, very impressive! It must be so nice to warm up the garage before you get into your vehicle or work in it.

What a useful product. It has been so cold, and it would make such a difference to be able to work in a warm garage.
