While I don’t much care for the cool down in temps that Autumn brings, there is so much to love about the season. I know, I know, it’s only July, but the fall season is just around the corner!
The beautiful colors of the leaves on the trees are a sight to be seen. Wafting smells of cinnamon, pumpkin, and spice is also a favorite. And even though we don’t have a grand fireplace, just seeing the small glow of our small electric one is comforting. Plus, don’t forget the hot chocolate! So yummy! To go along with all the deliciousness of the season, I wanted to share a perfect Fall Fresh Baked French Toast Recipe with you. {PS> It’s actually delicious any time of year though! So make sure you add this to your recipe rotation!} One of the moms brought this to my local MOPS and it was such a big hit.

Simple, yet homemade breakfasts are my favorite. I don’t like to spend too much time in the kitchen right away in the morning so being able to prep this dish the night before is handy. Of course, you can make it the morning of as well. I’ve done it both ways and it always turns out great.
Layering into any 9×12 or large casserole dish works. While the prep does require a few bowls, which means extra dishes, the end result is so worth it. I like to use Kings Hawaiian Rolls in this recipe but if you don’t have any on hand, regular bread works too.
Every aspect of this recipe is important. The different toppings come together to create an amazing flavor that is irresistible. When it comes to the cream cheese filling layer, feel free to add just a little extra milk if you feel it’s too thick.
And, just in case you’re wondering, the crumble topping is an absolute must! It offers a layer of sweetness that everyone loves. So much so, that I don’t even use syrup on my Cinnamon French Toast Bake! However, my kids and husband love topping with a drizzle of pure homemade maple syrup yet.
Our Favorite Breakfast
The end results of this Cinnamon Baked French Toast Recipe are SOOOO good! My whole family loves this dish, including Mr. Picky. So everyone is always happy when I make it. Our favorite is when I use nice thick French Bread or Kings Hawaiian Rolls but in a pinch when I forget to plan ahead, I just use my Whole Wheat Sara Lee. Either way, there’s never any leftovers!
Experiment With Flavors
What’s great about any recipe you find is that you can experiment with flavors. While the pumpkin pie spice is very subtle in this recipe, feel free to swap it out with something else if you’d like. Try apple pie seasoning or another family favorite. To make a balanced breakfast, I love adding some protein in the form of eggs. So be sure to print or pin our Breakfast Skillet Egg Burritos Recipe.
So tell me, what’s your family’s favorite meal of the day? We love breakfast so much that you’ll find our family eating it as breakfast, lunch, and diner!

I have never made anything like this before. My kids really enjoy french toast, and I think they would love this. I like how everything bakes in one dish.
