I received product from Nadine West to help facilitate this ‘Easy Ways To Ring In A New Summer Style’ post. As always, all opinions are my own.
Has the weather turned warm yet where you live? Honestly, Minnesota has been crazy. From a late snowstorm to cold temps, I’ve felt like we are completely skipping over spring. Which means that summer is just around the corner! I love summer. We already went out on our very first summer family bike ride of the year. Baseball season for our boys is in full swing. And we even made it out to the greenhouse to get our flowers already. I am so excited! Next up on my list are a couple of easy ways to ring in a new summer style.
I love making small changes throughout the year to keep things fresh and fun. And the best part is that they don’t even have to cost a lot to do it. So if you’re looking for ways to change up your look for summer, keep reading.
Easy Ways To Ring In A New Summer Style
1. Change Up Your Hair
Come summer, I love getting a trim and highlight. While a visit to the salon can be spendy, it doesn’t have to be. You can always do a color at home if you’re brave enough. Otherwise, visit your local cosmetology school to get a discounted rate. A student will be working on your hair but is supervised by a professional. I, personally, love adding some blond to my hair for the summer months. But I have a friend who loves to streak her hair with pink! Just do what you want to do to keep it fun.
2. Stay Hydrated
You may notice a difference in your skin with the change of weather. To get a glow, make sure to drink plenty of water, exfoliate, and moisturize. And don’t forget the sunscreen!
3. Grab A New Pair Of Sunglasses
As much for style as protection, find yourself a cute, new pair of shades to ring in your new summer style. I love that there are options for every style. You can find a variety of shapes, colors, and even bling.
4. Summer Eyeshadow Colors
Put away your dark colors and snag some bright ones for the next few months. Silvers, golds, and pinks are all great summer choices. Anything that shimmers and shines are extra fun during these sunny months.
5. Update Your Wardrobe
Pack away your winter gear and sweatshirts and spruce up your wardrobe with an affordable clothing subscription from Nadine West! They offer a wonderful subscription service for women. Each month, you’ll receive a package containing clothing and accessories. Simply put, you keep and pay for what you love and send back what you don’t with the pre-paid shipping label they include. I love that they offer affordable prices typically ranging from $8.99-$34.99. So just head to their website and fill out a style quiz to get started or keep reading to see what I received this month.
My Newest Nadine West Package
I wasn’t able to get a video of the unboxing this month as my phone was on the fritz but you can visit our You Tube Channel to see my previous openings. This month, I received 9 items in my package. That includes:
Glenda Purple Criss/Cross Shoulder Top – $25.99 to keep
Belinda Brick Lace Accent Top – $25.99 to keep
Sampaguita Ivory Kimono – $27.99 to keep
Missie Black/Red Floral Skirt – $11.99 to keep
Summer Getaway Green Shorts – $18.99 to keep
Shine Bright Black Jegging Style Pants – $19.49 to keep
Matte Tear Drop Silver Earrings – $15.99 to keep
Dione Silver Necklace – $29.99 to keep
Harriet Multi-Colored Pink/Floral Scarf – $14.99 to keep
My invoice also listed a 10th item, (Katie Ivory Black Top – $25.99 to keep), but it was missing from the package.
So as you can see, all the items fell between $11.99 and $29.99 this month. But some months, I find items at under $10 in my package even! So I find the Nadine West Subscription Service to be quite affordable. Especially since subscribers do not get charged for the items they send back. (And remember, they include a prepaid shipping label for you to use with any returns!)
Thoughts On My Package
This month we had a combination of hits and misses. I love the brick colored tank as the lace detail at the top makes it feminine and stylish.
The earrings were also a BIG yes. They are cute, yet lightweight.
The green shorts are super comfortable and Hannah and I will definitely be sharing. But they do require a little more effort to match so I prefer a little more neutral color usually.
I was a little disappointed in the kimono top as I have it specifically stated that while I love cardigans, I don’t like anything super long since I’m only 5’1″. So based on that, I don’t feel like my stylist should have sent. (Hannah is only a little shorter than me so she is modeling since it actually matched her outfit.)
I’ve also stated that I don’t need ‘fancy’ clothes as I’m a stay-at-home mom and I feel like the skirt they sent this time is definitely something that would be worn for dressier occasions. I will say that it is absolutely gorgeous though!
And finally, while the purple top says size small, I think it’s tagged wrong as it’s huge.
Part of the beauty of Nadine West, though, is that I’m surprised each month. While some items I love and others I don’t, I get to try a variety of styles and pieces. Sometimes, I receive an item that I would have never chosen myself but that I end up totally in love with!
