Some days, I feel like potty training is a battle of the wills. One being my daughters and the other is mine. Who will break first is the question! Then the next day, we’re team players, both aiming for that same end goal. I know I’m not alone in my potty training woes, so I love when I find great new products that aid us in this quest. Most recently, I was introduced to a company called Dry Like Me.
My main goal right now is to get our 2 1/2 year old daughter, Lucy, out of diapers. We’ve got the potty seat, step stool, and potty song all ready to go. She already understands how this whole potty thing works as she goes when it benefits her…. such as when I say she has to pee so we can head outside. Many days, she even insists on wearing panties. If she gets distracted, though, I end up having to scrub the couch or floor.
Dry Like Me offers a new approach to the potty training process by letting kiddos still wear their favorite underwear, yet adding a layer of protection with their toddler training pads. Designed to fit comfortably, these pads are discreet and the perfect solution to the learning process.
Dry Like Me Training Pads Q&A:
- My first question when I saw these pads was “Do they help with poop too?” The answer is yes! They have been designed to help protect clothing from smells and solids as well as pee.
- How much will a Dry Like Me Pad hold? Created with a super absorbent core, they typically hold about 3/4 of an average 2 year olds pee.
- How do they work? Designed to let the child still feel an accident as they will become a little bulky when wet, the absorbent core prevents a full on river.
- Why don’t they hold enough for an entire accident? Because they are not a diaper! These Training Pads help minimize the stress and mess of this stage in life but are designed to let kids recognize what’s happening.
Dry Like Me Training Pads work because they aid in helping children recognize cues from their body when it’s time to use the bathroom. Realizing they had an accident is key. This allows kids to understand what is happening and begin reacting. The increased awareness is the key to successfully training!
These training pads are extremely easy to use. Simply peel off the backing paper and stick firmly into the underpants. You can choose to use the wide end in front if your child has trouble with wetting accidents. Or place the wide end to the back if they haven’t quite mastered going number two yet.
While I used to dread the days Lucy insisted on wearing panties, I’m now excited to encourage her along in this process. The successes are now happening more frequently while the misses aren’t as intimidating to me any more. Dry Like Me Training Pads have been a great help!
