It’s estimated that your baby will go through 9,600 diapers in his or her first three years of life. Since I’ve had 4 babies, I think it’s safe to say that we’ve had well over 30,000 diaper changes at this point. WOW! That’s a lot of stinky diapers!
Have you ever let a diaper sit in a trashcan for too long? They smell HORRIBLE! I’m not even talking about a poo diaper, even the urine diapers can start to smell downright disgusting after a few days sitting in an open trashcan. Trust me, this has happened in our bathroom in the past…and possibly a diaper bag a time or two. YUCK!
One of the most debated questions I hear among other moms is, do I NEED a diaper pail? Well, in my nursery, a diaper pail is a must-have! The last thing I want is a nursery that smells of old, stinky urine and poop! If you can be consistent about always putting the diapers in your kitchen trash can and emptying it daily, well, maybe then you can get away without a diaper pail. That just doesn’t cut it for me though. We only empty our main trashcan every few days and I refuse to put up with the stink in between trash bag changes!
As a #PlaytexMom, I was sent one of the newest members of the Playtex® Diaper Genie® family, the Playtex® Diaper Genie® Complete, to use in my home and review for you. I’m excited to tell you all about it today!
The Playtex® Diaper Genie® Complete has a new modern, sleek look. It comes in 5 great colors: white, grey, blue, pink, and green. I decided to go with grey for my nursery. It’s a great gender neutral color and goes with just about anything.
This was literally the easiest diaper pail to set up that I’ve ever used. It arrives fully assembled. You just pop the trash bags and carbon filter into place and you’re ready to go!
Normally I have my baby in one hand and a dirty diaper in the other, so I love that the Playtex® Diaper Genie® Complete has a foot pedal for easy opening. Once you drop the diaper in and take your foot off of the pedal, the opening clamps shut, to really seal off any bad odors.
The Playtex® Diaper Genie® Complete is tall (their tallest model yet!) so it holds a lot of diapers. Eventually though, you’ll need to empty the diapers. They’ve made it SO easy! The front opens and tilts down. Then there is a built-in blade to cut the bag. Then, simply tie it closed, pull down and tie off to start a fresh bag, and you’re ready to go again!
You can purchase a Playtex® Diaper Genie® Complete at Walmart, Target, BabiesRUs, BuyBuyBaby, and at Amazon.com. You can find out more info about the Playtex® Diaper Genie® Complete by visiting the PlaytexBaby website.
I love how the Playtex® Diaper Genie® Complete keeps my nursery smelling fresh and looking great! It’s been a great asset to Gideon’s room and I think you’ll love it in your nursery too!
