CursiveLogic Review – Learn Cursive in 14 Weeks!

Most of you know that we’re a homeschooling family. I’ve been putting off teaching cursive until I had a few children to teach it to at once and this is the year!

Like any other subject, I did a lot of research trying to decide which cursive program we should use. I’m in various homeschool groups on Facebook and search thread after thread for feedback on curriculum. I also asked other homeschooling moms I know about their experience with cursive curriculums.

One cursive program came up as a recommendation over and over again – CursiveLogic.

What Makes CursiveLogic Unique

When I was in school, I remember learning to write cursive one letter at a time. We slowly worked our way through the alphabet letter by letter.

In CursiveLogic, letters are grouped together by shapes. There are 4 different shape groups.

CursiveLogic has students writing words faster than any other program I’ve seen.

You can read more about how this program works HERE.

My Initial Impression of CursiveLogic

We haven’t started the program yet, but my initial thoughts are good. The books are spiral bound at the top so the binding won’t get in the way while trying to write. The curriculum has just the right amount of color to be enticing to children without busy graphics to be distracting to them.

The daily lessons do not appear too long and I believe we will able to complete them in 15 minutes a day or less, which is what I had worked into our schedule.

I also appreciate that you don’t need to purchase a second teacher’s manual. Everything you need is located in the student workbook. However, if you feel you still need some help as the teacher, there is a webinar you can purchase.

Additional Books For Practice

Once you get through the first CursiveLogic book, there are additional books you can buy for practice.

Cursive Logic Student Workbook, Speeches and Writings in American History book, and U.S. Presidents and Citizens book.

I spoke with the creator of CursiveLogic and she told me I could even start with some of the other books for my older kids (and adults who are wanting to learn cursive can do the same).

However, since I am teaching all of my kids at once, I decided to start them all out with the beginner book and then continue on to the next books for additional practice.

I love how the additional CursiveLogic books combine cursive practice with history studies. There is also another additional practice book featuring poems, rhymes, and songs.

My Review of CursiveLogic

We have not started our schoolyear yet which means we haven’t started to use this curriculum yet. It’s a 14 week curriculum. I will come back and share an update once we have finished. I wanted to go ahead and post about it now though for any moms who are also currently researching cursive curriculum.

To purchase CursiveLogic yourself, you can do so HERE and at other homeschool retailers like Rainbow Resources.

This is so awesome; I love cursive and have always been disappointed that it is not taught in schools anymore. I homeschool so finding amazing tools like this to help me teach is always exciting! I will definitely be buying this for my kids to use.
