Whole chicken in the air fryer is so juicy! You will love this easy Air Fryer Whole Chicken recipe!
One of my favorite quick, easy weeknight meals is to cook a whole chicken in an air fryer. My husband gave me an air fryer last year for Christmas and it has quickly become one of my favorite little kitchen gadgets. I fix all sorts of things in there, from chicken nuggets to air fryer donuts, the possibilities are seemingly endless!
If you haven’t tried fixing an air fryer whole chicken yet, put it on your menu for this week! It’s so simple, you’re sure to make it pretty frequently! It’s also extremely affordable too! A whole chicken priced, on average, is just $7.50 and that’s enough to feed my husband, myself, and our 4 children, with chicken leftover! Then fix some air fryer carrots to go along with it, pop some biscuits in the oven, and you’ve got a great meal!
Air Fryer Whole Chicken Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 Tablespoons of melted butter
- whole chicken with giblets removed
- Your preferred chicken seasonings OR the following spices:
- 2-4 tsp Mrs. Dash
- 2 tsp sea salt
- 2 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Rinse chicken well and pat dry.
- You want the seasonings to stick to the chicken, so brush it lightly with the melted butter.
- Combine the seasonings and then sprinkle over the whole chicken
- Cook at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
- Flip and cook an additional 20 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 165 degrees.
- I like to brush my chicken with melted butter a second time when I flip and a third time when I remove it from the air fryer.
That’s it! Fixing a whole chicken in the air fryer is as easy as that and your family is sure to love it!
Lots of people ask me what kind of air fryer I have. My husband purchased me this air fryer from the Power Air Fryer company (it’s XL for our XL family) and we’ve loved it and have no complaints. My air fryer is 5.3 quart size and I would definitely recommend that size if you are trying to decide between the 5.3 and the 3.4 quart size. We have no problems at all fitting our whole chickens in this fryer. It’s also big enough to cook chicken nuggets and french fries for our whole family. I’ve heard great things about this GoWise Air Fryer too.

This looks so yummy. I have all the ingredients. I use my air fryer everyday, and have never made a whole chicken in it. I will need to try this.
