Comparing the Joovy Caboose to the Joovy Ultralight Caboose

Recently I shared my Joovy Caboose review and my Joovy Ultralight Caboose review. Today I’m comparing the Joovy Caboose to the Joovy Ultralight Caboose, so if you’re trying to decide between the 2, this is the article for you!

Comparing the Joovy Caboose to the Joovy Ultralight Caboose

As you can see above, these are both good looking strollers! I’m not going to write out my full review of each stroller in this post, you can click on the links above to read those. What I want to talk about are the difference between the two. I recently hosted a Facebook Live session where I talked about these two strollers. You can watch it below, and then read on for more info.

Canopy

To my, this is the biggest difference. You get a nicer, bigger canopy when you purchase the Joovy Caboose Ultralight. It’s going to provide better shade coverage without having to add anything to it.

Parent Organizer

The Joovy Caboose Ultralight also comes with the parent organizer that the regular Joovy Caboose does not have. This gives you a place to put your keys, 2 drinks, cell phone, etc.

Storage Basket

As you can see in the image above, the Joovy Caboose Ultralight also gives you a bigger storage basket, which can also come in pretty handy when you have two kids!

Weight

Just like the name suggests, the Joovy Caboose Ultralight weighs in at 23.5 pounds while the regular Joovy Caboose weighs 27.5 pounds. While 4 pounds probably doesn’t sound like much, the Ultralight is easier to push, steer, and lift into the trunk of a vehicle.

Price

If you are going by the manufacturer’s suggested retail price for these strollers, the price difference between the 2 is $100. The Joovy Caboose is priced at $149.99 while the Joovy Caboose Ultralight is priced at $249.99.

Overall Thoughts

Those are your 5 differences with this stroller. And the are definitely features that you don’t want to take lightly.

For me, if it wasn’t for price, the Joovy Caboose Ultralight would win for sure. So the biggest thing to look at with this stroller choice is budget. If you’re on a tight budget, hands-down the Joovy Caboose wins and I’m pretty confident that you are still going to love it. If you’re able to splurge some, the features on the Joovy Caboose Ultralight are pretty nice, especially the canopy if you will be taking a lot of trips where you will be out in the sun. Another thing to consider is that you can often times find these strollers for much less. As of the date of this posting, I found the Joovy Caboose stroller on Amazon for as low as $112.99 and the Joovy Caboose Ultralight for as low as $169.00 (and in that amazing green color too!).

Whatever you decide, Joovy makes a quality product and offers great customer service, so I feel confident that you’ll enjoy your experience with the brand.  Feel free to comment below with any lingering questions you might have about these two strollers. Happy strolling!

I have a question. Where does the toddler in the back put his feet? Does he have to rest his feet in the basket?

@Janessa, But when the toddler is forward facing, he's got his feet inside the basket, right? Then is there any space left really for bags? Could the smaller child go in the back instead? And one last one - can the bigger child even sit facing backwards if the front child is sleeping in the reclined seat?? It seems like they would have to bend forward...

No, the toddler on the back seat sits backwards basically (facing the person pushing the stroller). There is a little footrest there.

Thank you so much for this! I have been going back and forth between the two, and without being able to see them side by side, I wasn't able to make a decision. This definitely helped me narrow it down!

These are so nice. I love the bright colors and the storage areas. I also love how easy it is to use these and how safe they are for baby. Thank you so much for sharing these. God Bless

I really like oh flat it folds up, I have an explorer and usually keep the 5th seat down for extra space. But if I needed that seat I think this would still fit in the cargo area. The other stroller my friend has it's pretty bulky when folded up. I like these a lot.
