My youngest boys are 2 (Matthias) and 4 (Killian) this year and are at such a fun age for the holidays. Matthias has been obsessed with my Christmas Village and I know when we get the tree out he’s going to think it’s just the best thing ever.
On his second birthday he definitely started to get what gifts were all about, so I know he will be very excited for presents this year too.
Killian has been talking about Christmas for a few weeks now and telling us the things he’s hoping to get as well.
Today I’m sharing some of the items I’ve chosen for my boys this year. Most of these are things they will both enjoy so I’ll just split the gifts between them but know they will both end up playing with them.
Peg Perego Ducati GP
If you’re looking for that “Wow Gift” here it is! The Peg Perego Ducati GP will no doubt excited your preschooler this holiday season!
He’ll feel like a star on his mini motorcycle! Here are some of the key features:
- The Peg Perego Ducati GP features a working horn and engine sounds.
- Riders have the option to drive it with or without training wheels.
- The right handle is used for acceloration.
- When a hand is taken off of the accelorator, it automatically stops accelorating, but there are also independant mechanical drum brakes as well.
- Wheels are rubbarized and have tread to help with stability.
- This bike has 2 speeds: 2.5mph and 5mph.
- Parts are made using anti-corosion iron to help it have a long life.
- Has a kickstand with rubbarized tip to store it upright when not in use.
This motorcycle is incredible and sure to be a very popular gift for little boys this year! You can purchase it HERE.
Step2
Step2 has a special place in my heart because I’ve had such a long relationship with the brand. I’ve been on 3 press trips to the headquarters. I’ve spoken with designers, had lunch with a former CEO, and even got to have my son involved in a photo shoot for a product.
I feel like this is a company that truly care about making toys your kids will love! They have lots of great toys but I want to share two of my favorites this year.
Cooking Time Kitchen
One of the top items on my list for these boys was a kitchen set. We got rid of our Step2 Mixin’ Up Magic kitchen set when we moved a few years ago and downsized. Every time we visit friends with a kitchen set though, these boys love to play with it.
That’s right, kitchen sets are not just for girls. Boys enjoy playing with them too.
The Step2 Cooking Time Kitchen is perfect for anyone looking for a kitchen set that won’t take up a ton of room but still has all of the necessary features that kids want.
This kitchen has a stovetop, oven, sink, storage area, refrigerator, and freezer. I love that the colors aren’t too loud and the set is realistic looking.
It comes with a 23-piece accessory set includes utensils, pots, pans, storage bins & more. It’s important to note that it doesn’t come with any food so you’ll want to get that separately.
I am SO happy to report that it ships in a box without pictures. In a day and age where most of us are having presents shipped directly to the door, it was so nice that my little ones couldn’t tell what was in the box. THANK YOU STEP2!
One great tip that Step2 shared with me years ago – if you are gifting your kids a new toy that requires assembly, like this kitchen set, don’t wait until Christmas Eve. Ideally all of your new toys will come with all of the required pieces and hardware but you have to remember that these things are packaged by humans.
Mistakes can sometimes be made. So do yourself a favor and, if at all possible, assemble items at least a week ahead of time so that if there are any issues, they can be corrected before Christmas morning.
You can buy this adorable kitchen set HERE.
My First Advent Calendar
If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ve probably heard me talk about how important I think traditions are. Doing one-off things can certainly be fun, but when you have traditions that you do year after year after year it makes it all the better.
That’s one of the things I love about the Step2 My First Advent Calendar. Because it’s reusable it will be easy to use this calendar year after year after year. And while you might be thinking that the containers are so small you won’t be able to fit everything you want to, don’t let that stop you!
I plan to use the containers in our My First Advent Calendar for a variety of things. For example, one day might hold Hershey kisses for my kids. The next day they may find a paper that says, “for today’s special Advent treat, we’re having Swiss Miss Pancakes for breakfast” or “tonight we’re going to go out driving around to look at the Christmas lights!”.
The possibilities are endless and YOU get to decide!
Because it’s from Step2, it’s also made with thick plastic so it’s going to last for years and years and years. My 2 & 4 year olds have already loved playing with it quite a bit, putting the cups in and out.
Get one now so your child(ren) can continue to use it for years to come! You can buy the Step2 My First Advent Calendar HERE.
Little Tikes
Growing up, Little Tikes products were always at the top of my wish list! 30+ years later and they are still coming out with some of the coolest, most innovative toys for kids! Another thing I love about Little Tikes is that they have a lot of great affordable options for nearly every budget!
Little Tikes Story Dream Machine
A must-have for toddlers and preschoolers this year is the Little Tikes Story Dream Machine! This toy allows him to watch, listen, and read along to his favorite stories as they are projected onto a wall or other flat surface.
It’s one of those things where’s it’s helpful to see this toy in action, so watch this quick video to see just how it works:
I love that there are SO many book options available for this toy! Baby Shark, Berenstain Bears, Eric Carle, Little Golden Books, Paw Patrol, Fraggle Rock, Trolls, and so many more!
Reading to children is such an important part of child developement and sometimes I just don’t have as much time to read to my little ones as I’d like. I love that this toy make it possible for them to listen to endless books all day long.
Check out the full lineup of books and get yours HERE.
Little Tikes Creative Chefs
Another aweseome Little Tikes toy line for this year is their Creative Chefs play sets. These sets utilize Little Tike’s special Make-It Mix which is similiar to kinetic sand. The play sand is moldable and reusable.
Little Tikes offers quite a few options in their Creative Chefs lineup including an ice cream kit, a peanut butter and jelly kit, a waffle kit, a nachos set, a pie set, and more!
These Creative Chef kits are fun for both Matthias and Killian! You can see all of the kits and buy them HERE.
Old World Christmas Rudolph Advent Calendar
Do you need an Advent calendar where the work is already done for you? Or maybe you have a Rudolph enthusiast like I do. If so, the Rudolph Advent Calendar from Old World Christmas is exactly what you want!
This set features 24 flexible resin ornmanets that are perfect little hands to decorating a small tree in his room or adding to your main tree.
GraviTrax Junior XXL 200-Piece My Planet Starter Set
We got our first GraviTrax Junior set last year and my younger kids have really enjoyed it. GraviTrax Junior is a great line of intro-level marble maze systems for preschoolers. The marble tracks are easy to assemble and there are many different possibilities for layouts to keep things interesting.
The GraviTrax Junior XXL 200-Piece My Planet Starter Set is the perfect introduction into GraviTrax Junior. It has a large variety of pieces like slopes and curves. This set has a lot of fun and colorful decorative elements and animals too.
It’s important to mention that since this set comes with marbles, it’s recommended for children ages 3 and up since they pose a choking hazard.
You can purchase this starter set and other fun expansion sets HERE.
Connetix Creative Roads Pack – 48 Pieces
My kids LOVE playing with Connetix! We’ve had other magnetic tile sets from Connetix for a few years now and they are one of those toys that consistently gets played with.
My toddlers, preschoolers, and even older kids love building with Connetix. Even I have fun building Connetix with my kids!
I recently discovered they have a new line of road tiles and was so excited! My boys love cars and having the ability to combine magnetic tile play with car play has given my boys even more play opportunities!
You can purchase this fun set HERE.
BRIO World Train Set Dinosaur Adventure Set
Both of my boys love playing with trains! We have a few BRIO sets and they are played with multiple times every week. BRIO train sets are so well made that even ones we got 5 years ago are still in great shape.
I’m loving this new BRIO set featuring dinosaurs and my boys love it too. What little boy doesn’t love dinos?! They enjoy having a cave for the dinosaurs and the hill for the train. It easily attaches to other wooden train sets to expand the track.
You can purchase the BRIO World Train Set Dinosaur Adventure Set here.
Warm Pals Weighted Stuffed Animals
Toddlers and preschoolers love stuffed animals. All of my kids have quite a collection of them! These stuffed animals however are different from your average stuffie. Warm Pals are weighted (1.5 pounds) and lavender scented.
You can warm these stuffed animals in the microwave for a warm, comforting stuffie to hug at bedtime, who smells great too! You can even put them into the freezer to be used as cold therapy too!
Killian was gifted a few of these when he was in the hospital for two weeks with appendicitis earlier this year and he loves them so much!
There are so many great animals to choose from: shark, puppy, spider, unicorn, monkey, dragon, and many many more! Check them all out here.
Scentco Smillows
He’s going to love the adorable Smillows from Scentco! Smillows are scented pillows with a smell that’s guaranteed to last for 2 years!
They come in a variety of fun shapes and smells, like S’mores, Pineapple, Cupcake, Chocolate Sundae, Watermellon, Rootbeer, and more! Pictured below is the S’mores Smillow.
You can see all of them and purchase them here.
Domino & Juliette Bright Beginnings Bundle
I always like to get a few educational toys for our kids at Christmas. The Bright Beginnings Bundle from Domino & Juliette is just perfect for Matthias!
This set comes with:
- 123 Find & Fit Puzzle: This puzzle board is wooden while the pieces (26) are made of silicone. That makes them easy to toss in the dishwasher if needed and safe for little ones to chew on. They are also a bit easy for little ones to manipulate into the correct position. They are also perfect for playing separate from the puzzle. For example, lining the numbers in order on the table. This puzzle features numbers 0-9 twice, plus 6 shapes so you can also use it for shape practice or even matching practice with the numbers.
- Soft, zippered canvas storage bag: This is SO helpful to keep all of those puzzle pieces together so you don’t lose any.
- Squeeze and Stack Block: Blocks are one of those toys all toddlers should have. I love having silicone blocks around because when the tall towers topple over, they don’t hurt when they fall down on little fingers. These colorful blocks feature numbers and letters for additional educational opportunities.
- 4-Pack Toddler Placemat Pack: “Farm Sea to Shining Sea”: Matthias is in that adorable toddler phase of wanting to same the name of EVERYTHING. He loves to point to something and say the name himself or have us say what it is and then he repeats it. He especially loves to do the same with books and now these placements too. He can spend a long time pointing to animal after animal telling us what it is. Even my older kids love these placemats! Each placemat has a different, brightly-colored animal-themed scene (water, farm, forest, African animals) and a silicone backing to help it stay in place on your table.
- Shapes Placemat: Just as the name suggests, this placemat is perfect to help toddlers and preschoolers learn to identify shapes while they eat. You can also use it to practice colors and counting. It features a non-slip silicone backing.
- Placemat Storage Bag: A nice, canvas storage bag will help to store your placemats.
You can purchase this set HERE.
Headu Syllables Factory
Killian needing something educational too and since he LOVES to go over letters and sounding out words, I knew this would be a great gift for him. He’s going to be so excited for this toy!
This toy helps to teach little ones how to break words into syllables. We’re actually working on that very thing in homeschooling right now so it’s the perfect way to make education fun!
You can purchase this toy HERE.
Which toy featured do you think would be your boy’s favorite? I hope this list of my favorite Christmas gifts for toddler and preschool boys is helpful to you this holiday shopping season!

I see so many awesome gift ideas for toddlers/preschoolers! I absolutely love Step2 products, everything we have ever bought has been very well loved by all three of my kids. The Peg Perego Ducati GP is so cool!! I really like this brand. My son has the Peg Perego Polaris Slingshot and it is so much fun! It has a high weight limit and 2 seats too, which is nice for multiple kids to enjoy.
