If you’ve been a long-time follower of this blog, it’s likely you’ve noticed that I haven’t been around as much since Aram has been born. Sure, I’m still putting out new blog posts every so often and sharing on social media sometimes, but certainly not nearly as often! And I miss it! I miss writing but it seems like the ONLY time I have to write is once everyone is finally asleep for the evening. That is typically sometime after 9pm and by then I’m just exhausted.
Can I be honest? This momming 5 kids thing is HARD. A lot of moms of many children feel like they can’t express that because other people will just make comments like, “well, you KNEW what you were getting into!”. And yes, that’s true. Been there, done this 4 other times. This time around though, it feels extra tough.
Don’t get me wrong. Aram is a pretty good baby. I’m so glad he’s a part of our family! He smiles a lot and he’s generally happy…as long as someone is holding him and typically he wants that someone to be me. Sure, he’ll let me put him down here and there for 5-10 minutes when I frantically grab a shower or throw some laundry from the washer into the dryer. But, for a large portion of the day, Aram is with me and that can make life tough at times.
Not only do I have a snuggly baby who wants to be held a lot, but I also have 4 other children to care for, 2 of them that are homeschooled. Plus a house to clean, meals to be made, oh and did I mention we have been working on trying to fix up our house to put it on the market soon? We purchased it knowing it needed a LOT of work (like total overhaul), so it’s been time-consuming, to say the least.
He’s also not been sleeping well (like waking every 90 minutes not well) so I’m generally just exhausted most days.
Life has been crazy and let me tell you, my Boppy ComfyFit baby carrier has been a LIFESAVER! I’ve already shared this with another mom friend who recently had a new baby. She ran out and bought one that same night (and loves it) so naturally, since today is the first day of International Babywearing Week, I wanted to tell you all about it too!
When Aram was about 2 weeks old, I realized it was time to break out the baby carrier. I was spending all day long holding him. My husband was working 60 hour weeks at the time. My arms were tired and my house was falling apart. The Boppy ComfyFit is a newer carrier on the market; one I didn’t have with my other children. I was excited to try it out for Aram and see how it compared to others I’d used in the past.
With my other newborn babies, I’d used a stretchy wrap. I’ve tried them from a number of brands over the years. That worked just fine, however, the wraps were a hassle to put on. They are all so very long, so long that I hated putting it on if I wasn’t at home because the tails would drag on the ground. I especially hated that when I was trying to put it on while in the parking lot at a grocery store.
The Boppy ComfyFit is a kind of hybrid carrier, blending the stretchy fabric you’ll find in a wrap with the structure that you’ll find in a soft-structured carrier. While it still has a tail like other wraps, it’s faster and easier to keep it off of the ground while putting it on.
The first time I used the carrier, I must admit that it wasn’t absolute love at first wear. As I wore it, my baby seemed to move down and my back started to hurt. However it was just as comfortable as the other wraps and easier to put on, so I kept trying it. Plus, I was finally getting some things done around the house.
Within a couple times of wearing it, I’d learned a few tricks. First, although I can put it on myself, if my husband is around to help, he can spread the fabric out comfortably much better than I can on my own. Second, I learned that a key to a “comfy fit” with the ComfyFit is to tie it tightly so the carrier and baby stay in place. By having the baby pulled tightly against my body, I was SO comfortable with this carrier, I could literally wear it for hours without back pain.
And, wear it for hours I have! I have taken this carrier with me wherever I go! I took it on our recent trip to great wolf lodge (lifesaver!), it goes with me to church every week, to the grocery store, to the park, and I wear it frequently at home. Putting Aram in the carrier helps me have my hands free to fix dinner, unload the dishwasher, fold laundry, vacuum my house and help my children with their schooling, all while keeping Aram close and, because he’s close, happy! I love it so much I got rid of the other wraps I had because I never use them. In fact, so far this is the only carrier I’ve used with Aram.
Aram loves the carrier so much, he frequently falls asleep while I’m wearing him, especially when I break out the vacuum cleaner. Boppy’s ComfyFit carrier and the vacuum are a winning combination to him!
I LOVE the Boppy ComfyFit Carrier and recommend it to every mom I know!
Some important things to note about this carrier:
- It’s currently available in 3 colors — black, grey, and midnight blue
- Quick and easy to put on, just snap the clip in the back above your waist and adjust to your size, put your baby inside and put your arms through the armholes, then wrap the fabric around and tie.
- You can use it with baby facing inward or outward (once he or she is at least 6 months old)
- It’s husband approved – yes, my husband has worn it nearly as many times as I have!
- One size fits most
- Machine washable
- Comes with a storage pouch that’s great for using when you’re on the go
The Boppy ComfyFit has been one of my baby must-have baby gear items for Aram. It’s been a lifesaver and I highly recommend it! Add it to your Target Baby Registry or pick one up from Amazon.com or directly from the Boppy website.

Has anyone nurses in this carrier? If yes, any tips/tricks/advice? I have one and love it, just trying to figure out how to nurse in it as well.
Thanks!

Homey not sure if you already had your baby and tried but I have used it and nursed in it. I’m not too sure how other carriers do in that respect as this is the first I’ve tried it with. I’ve been able to feed her just fine but I worry about her breathing since I have fairly large breasts so I always hold my breast to the side a bit to let her get good air. So while I do breastfeed in it, I’m still watching her and have to be pretty vigilant. Not so “get your breast out and you’re good” but my baby is also a newborn so maybe as she angers older. (It could go either way though, she could get too big and make it harder to breastfeed in it, or she can get better at doing it by herself without any help”

I was just given this carrier as a present. Baby Ziggy will be here in a few days. Trying to figure out if it's possible to nurse while wearing baby in this carrier.

I have not personally tried to nurse in it. I've just never really tried to do that in any carrier -- I should try it though! If I do get a chance to try soon I'll report back!

This does look so much more comfortable for mom and baby than the almost-backpack-y type one I had many years ago.

This looks awesome!! I've tried a Moby a few times with all 3 of mine and couldn''t get the hang of it. I've tried a number of slings and struggled with them too. I wish I would have tried this a few months ago. I've been wearing my little guy a lot in a Ergo 360 my husband surprised me with, but I could really use something softer for around the house. Looks like a great carrier!
