There’s no shortage of baby gear out there… but what’s actually worth buying? The sheer number of products available for babies can feel overwhelming. There are gadgets for everything, countless versions of the basics, and plenty of products that sound amazing but end up collecting dust. And the hardest part? EVERYONE has an opinion! (This includes me! lol). As a mom to six former foster mom, and former daycare provider, I’ve tried out a LOT of gear. What works for one baby may not work for the next.
But taking all things into consideration, I’m highlighting some of my favorite finds. Things that made life with a baby easier, safer, more comfortable, and a whole lot more fun. From everyday essentials and innovative gear to feeding, sleep, travel, play, and a few worthwhile splurges, these are the baby products I personally think deserve a spot on parents’ radar in 2026 and beyond.
Around The House
Once baby arrives, it’s gloves off. I’ve had easy babies and I’ve had HARD colicky babies. But there are some items that do help make everyday life just a little easier.
GROWNSY Baby Bouncer With 3 Recline Positions
A good baby bouncer is one of those products that can quickly become a household staple. And the brand new GROWNSY Baby Bouncer packs quite a bit into one convenient seat.

A good bouncer seat is something I used a TON with all my kids. They are so lightweight and portable. I appreciate how I can bring it with me in the into the bathroom as I get ready in the morning but then it’s super easy to transport to the kitchen to prep breakfast next. It was one of those items that definitely made the rounds around the house with me as it gave baby a clean, safe place to sit as I accomplished my tasks.
Baby Einstein 4-in-1 Kickin’ Tunes Music & Language Discovery Activity Gym
Baby gyms have come a LONG way since we had our first child over 21 years ago! The Baby Einstein 4-in-1 Kickin’ Tunes Music & Language Discovery Activity Gym is designed for babies from birth through 36 months. Four different modes allow it to transition between lay-and-play, tummy time, sitting play, and on-the-go play as baby’s abilities develop.
My favorite feature is the kick piano. Babies can discover cause and effect as their movements create a response! This piano features more than 25 minutes of continuous lights and music. It introduces colors, shapes, and numbers in English, Spanish, French, and German.
There are also seven sensory toys, including a crinkle medallion, triangle rattle, textured music note, flash cards, self-discovery mirror, piano, and tummy-time pillow.
I loved play mats as they offered a great place to practice tummy time and rolling.
Mockingbird High Chair
The Mockingbird High Chair offers a 2-in-1 design that transitions from a traditional high chair into a child-sized chair, giving families the potential for years of use.
And it’s loaded with great features! Mockingbird designed the seat and footrest to help support a 90-degree position at baby’s hips, knees, and ankles. The footrest offers four positions, while the tray has three depth settings so you can adjust the chair as your little one grows. It has a small footprint so I’m not constantly tripping over the legs. AND, it’s super easy to clean as there are no nooks and crannies!

For Sleep
If there’s one thing new parents quickly learn to appreciate, it’s SLEEP! When we fostered again this last time, I couldn’t believe how much the lack of sleep affected me so quickly! And while no product can guarantee a sleeping baby, having a comfortable, practical sleep setup can make those nights and naps easier to navigate.
Graco Mini Crib
Not every family has room for, or even needs, a giant nursery setup. That’s where a Graco Mini Crib can be especially handy. A mini crib provides baby with their own dedicated sleep space while taking up considerably less room than many full-size cribs. I’ve loved this crib so much and wish we would have had it for our older kids too! It’s pretty, functional, and a space saver to boot!
SleepingBaby Zipadee-Zip
The SleepingBaby Zipadee-Zip was a lifesaver for me. I’ve used these on my own kids as well as every single foster baby. And it has WORKED! The distinctive starfish-like design gives little arms and legs space inside the garment while also guarding against the startle reflex. And the simple zippered construction is especially helpful during middle-of-the-night changes. Baby Crib Mobile
A baby crib mobile can put the finishing touch on a nursery space while also giving little ones something interesting to look at. I suggest finding a mobile you love that offers music, lights, and rotation. It’s been a lifesaver with a cranky baby!
On-the-Go & Travel
Babies may be tiny, but somehow they seem require an impressive amount of STUFF! While most items truly aren’t a necessity, they sure can be helpful!
Pack ‘n Play – I love the Joovy Room
A Pack ‘n Play is one of my favorite multi-purpose baby products, with the Joovy Room being a fav. It can provide a portable play space and travel sleep solution. Some people even use one in place of a crib. I liked how easy this particular model would go up and down.
Freshly Picked Moccasins
Remember when Freshly Picked Moccasins was on Shark Tank? I do! And I know many people will say that babies don’t need shoes. But I disagree. Not only are these soft soled moccs super cute. They keep those pesky baby socks on. That alone is reason enough to invest in a pair! When I was expecting our 6th baby, my very first purchase for her b .was a pair of FP Moccasins.
Luli Bebé Signature Diaper Bag
The Luli Bebé Signature Diaper Bag is for parents who want all that diaper-bag functionality without necessarily looking like they’re carrying a traditional diaper bag. This well-designed bag handle diapers, wipes, bottles, extra clothes, snacks, toys, and approximately 47 other things you didn’t know you needed until you had a baby. And it looks good too! Both my cousin and I had this bag and it was definitely at the top of our favorites list over all the other bags we’d used.
Bath & Diapering
Between diaper changes, spit-up, drool, and the occasional spectacular baby blowout, keeping a baby clean can be time consuming. Here are my faves for this category.
Shnuggle ECO Newborn Baby Bath
I’ve had the traditional tub and I’ve had the Shnuggle ECO Newborn Baby Bath. Suitable from birth to 12 months, this innovative baby bathtub ensures a safe, cozy, and enjoyable bath time experience for your little one. I found it easier to bathe baby in this and to carry to the sink to empty when finished.
Parker Baby Co. Felt Diaper Caddy Organizer
Staying organized makes diaper changes so much easier. The Parker Baby Diaper Caddy Organizer is a patented organizer designed for all your baby essentials. It accommodates diapers, wipes, clothes, toys, changing pads, and more. I LOVED this thing! I kept it on my changing table but was able to grab it quickly when needed in other rooms too.
Keekaroo Peanut Changer
Completely water repellant, the Peanut Changer is the original made in the USA, easy-to-clean changing pad. I’ve owned mine since our 14 year old was little and it still looks brand new! It’s at the top of my must-have list.
Play & Development
Play is how babies learn about the world around them. Those simple moments spent grabbing, kicking, reaching, staring, shaking, and eventually crawling after toys are helping little ones develop important skills.
Lovevery Play Kits
I know that Lovevery Play Kits are an investment. But I will say, we’ve LOVED every single one we’ve gotten. The toys have all been high quality, well made, and engaging. I’ve even seen them on my local Marketplace so it’s possible to snag a deal locally too.
Bright Starts Rattle
Every single one of my babies has has this Bright Starts Rattle. It’s perfectly sized, lightweight, and easy to grasp. I always kept one in the diaper bag, one in the car, and another at home. We LOVED these!
Silicone Teething Mitten
This Silicone Teething Mitten set was another winner. The design is genius! Even young infants can grasp and maneuver to their mouth to chew on.
More Essentials
There are a few items that I always recommend parents invest in. Those final items are:
Baby Carrier
Babies come out small for a reason. So you can wear them! And there are TONS of baby carrier options available these days. My biggest tip is to try your friend’s or visit a store to test some out in person. My absolute favorite brand is no longer in business. But I’ve come to love other soft structured carriers that are similar. A high quality soft structured carrier that keeps baby’s hips in the correct position is worth its weight in gold. I wore my babies everywhere (for years!). BONUS is that baby-wearing counts as tummy time for baby!
Stainless Steel Diaper Pail
When my babies are little, I’m not too worried about having a diaper pail. (Breastfed baby poop doesn’t smell bad!). But once they get a little older and start eating food, a diaper pail is absolutely necessary. I highly suggest you invest in a stainless steel version as smells seem to seep into the plastic ones over time. My favorite ones are the brands that can fit regular garbage bags so I don’t have to purchase special bags.
Best Of Baby 2026: Final Thoughts
One thing I’ve learned over the years is that you don’t need to buy every single baby product on the market. Babies have been doing just fine without wipe warmers and 72 different gadgets for a very long time! (I’ve never owned a wipes warmer!).
But with that said, the right baby gear can absolutely make life easier.
Ultimately, I want products that solve a problem, provide lasting value, encourage baby’s development, and make everyday parenting a little more convenient. Products I reach for again and again.
