Back To School With Pair Eyewear (+ Discount Code)

It’s that time of year again and back-to-school sales have begun! Thankfully, my daughter’s kindergarten school supplies list was fairly short. You have your basics such as crayons, markers, folders, glue sticks, etc. I am most looking forward to styling my daughter’s hair, seeing her wear cute new outfits, and adding some fun accessories! One back-to-school item my daughter may need in the future is glasses. Her dad and I both have terrible eyesight.

We have both had glasses since around the age of 12 and continue to wear glasses and contacts in our early 30s. Luckily, I found Pair Eyewear to prepare us for that moment and in the meantime, save money on glasses and sunglasses for myself!

Pair Eyewear

The last pair of glasses I purchased from an optometrist cost me over $500. I wish I were kidding, but I’m not. Even with insurance, I couldn’t believe how expensive glasses were. Pair Eyewear has a great selection of frames that come in all shapes, sizes, and colors! One REALLY sweet feature they have on their website is you can virtually try on each pair to see what you like best! See my photo below of the virtual picture that it creates.

Process Of Designing Glasses From Pair Eyewear

Pair Eyewear has your whole family covered! They have men’s, women’s, and kid’s glasses — as well as prescription (or non-prescription) sunglasses.

Frame Shape

The first step is to choose the desired frame shape. The options they have for this are cat-eye, round, rectangle, extra-narrow, narrow, medium, wide, and extra-wide. WOW! You truly can find a shape that complements your face with such variety.

Color

Next, you get to choose the color of the frame. Their options for this are black, clear blue, blue tortoise, crystal clear, pink clear, and tortoise. If you want more color options, pair eyewear has these magnetic frames called toppers. I have to say, they are SO COOL! The toppers come, in what feels like, all the colors of the rainbow. Including a rainbow pattern! Speaking of patterns, they have frames with stripes, stars, flowers, sparkles, animal prints, and gradients. They even have themed toppers like Halloween, Disney, TV show Friends, Star Wars, Van Gogh, Harry Potter, Sesame Street, Sports, and SO MUCH MORE!

Lenses

You have picked out your frame shape and color, now you will select your lens. See my list below of the selection of lenses Pair Eyewear has to offer.

  • Single-Vision: Lenses that help you see near or far distances.
  • Progressive Lenses: Lenses that help you see near, far, and in-between, replacing the need for multiple frames.
  • Readers: Lenses that help you see up-close text or objects more clearly.
  • Non-Prescription: Lenses without vision correction that are simply for style.

From there you will be able to choose a lens type. These options include a basic lens with optical clarity or a standard lens with optical clarity and high-impact resistance. Pair Eyewear also offers a Blue-Light Filter on your lens. This feature filters out blue light rays emitted from devices and the sun. Last but not least, Light Responsive Lenses. This unique feature darkens and lightens in response to UV rays and has blue-light protection.

Prescription

When it comes time to submit your prescription, Pair Eyewear makes it hassle-free for their customers! If you have a copy of your prescription, just upload a picture of it during checkout OR you can have a Pair Eyewear representative contact your eye doctor and they will obtain your prescription information. Like my daughter always says “Easy peasy!”

My Savings

I want to share with you what my exact savings would have been if I had purchased my glasses through Pair Eyewear vs purchasing them through my optometrist. My total from my optometrist, before tax, was $569.99. I went on the Pair Eyewear site and chose the same frame shape, frame color, and lens (which included a progressive lens with blue-light protection.) My total at check out, before tax, was $347.00. That’s a $222.99 savings! It’s safe to say that my next pair of prescription glasses will be purchased from Pair Eyewear.

You may still be thinking, “Well, that’s without insurance.” The way my vision insurance works is that I get a choice between contacts each year or glasses every other year. Being I work with young children all day, it is hard for me to wear glasses as those curious little minds like to grab at them. Contacts are my usual go-to option during a work day. In the evening and on the weekends though, I like to wear my glasses. Having both options is a must for me, so I choose to have my insurance cover my contacts each year and then when I need new glasses, I end up paying out of pocket for them.

What Else Does Pair Eyewear Have To Offer?

Protect your lens with PairCare. For an additional $45 you will receive a 1-year warranty that offers full protection for scratched lenses or damaged frames. There is also FREE standard shipping on all U.S. orders.
