You are going to love my Air Fryer Hushpuppies Recipe! They are so easy to make and delicious too!

Last year for Christmas my husband bought me an air fryer. Now, I know some women don’t like to get kitchen gadgets as gifts but I love ’em! I’m all about getting practical items I’ll actually use, so an air fryer was a great choice. I was immediately excited about my new kitchen gadget. Little did I know just how much I’d grow to love my air fryer.

You guys, as a busy mom of 5 kids, I find myself using my air fryer ALL THE TIME! I’m a stay at home, homeschooling mom, so that means every meal of the day, I’m in charge of fixing it. The air fryer makes food taste fried like my kids like, without the mess and extra calories that traditional frying adds. I use it to fix everything from air fryer whole chicken to air fryer donuts and everything in between!

We try to have fish two nights a week and one of our favorite side dishes for fish is hushpuppies. After some trial and error, I perfected this air fryer hushpuppies recipe and wanted to share it with you all today.

  5. Cook hushpuppies at 375 degrees for 10 minutes or until outside is starting to brown. Cooking time will depend on your particular air fryer. At the 5 minute mark, open the air fryer and shake the basket.
  6. Shake the basket again and then brush the hushpuppies with melted butter or spray with oil (optional) and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Serve warm

Of course, the best thing to pair this air fryer hushpuppies recipe with is Gorton’s Seafood’s Delicious Classics! We love all of Gorton’s Delicious Classics, and this time decided to pair the hushpuppies with Gorton’s Beer Battered Fillets. Gorton’s range of whole filets are made with wild-caught Alaska Pollock, flash-frozen at the peak of freshness to lock in full flavor & nutrition. They have no fillers, no preservatives, no artificial colors or flavors, no hydrogenated oils, and no antibiotics! It’s such an affordable way to make sure our whole family gets quality protein and Omega 3’s each week!

We love to cook our Gorton’s Whole Fillets in our air fryer too. I honestly want to get a second air fryer because we use the one we have so much and a second one would really come in handy. Typically I make the fish first and then just keep the fillets warm while I make the hushpuppies. By making the fish first, if my kids are REALLY hungry (you know how it goes moms!) I just let them have a fillet while they wait. I always make a few extra fillets for that reason because I know someone will devour them!

I hope you and your family enjoy my air fryer hushpuppies recipe!

To heck with Fish and Chips, I'm on board with Fish and hush puppies. I grew up in the South and love some hush puppies. I've lived north of the Mason Dixon line for over 25 years and you just don't see hush puppies on the menu. Seeing this recipe is perfect timing as we have a fairly new air fryer and we don't like to deep fry so it's a perfect match. Can't wait to try it.

Oh, these look so good. I haven't had hushpuppies in a long time and I've definitely never tried to make them at home. My hubby loves fish, so I need to try them with a meal soon as a surprise! He'd love that!
