Our Stay At The Minnesota Sheraton Bloomington Hotel
After having to push our stay back by one day due to an unexpected March blizzard, we arrived on a Friday evening. Check in was a breeze and only took a couple minutes. We were given a cart for our luggage and then headed up to our rooms.
Video Tour Of Our Suite
Thoughts On Our Suite
Honestly, this spacious 1,000+ square foot suite was beyond amazing. These suites accommodate 4 guests (1 king bed, pull out couch). But because we had 7 of us, we also had the adjoining bedroom. So this gave us a mega suite featuring 2 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and a large living room/seating area, meaning there was always enough space for everyone.
The massive common area was amazing. It was great to have room for everyone to spread out and still be together at the end of the day.
Our master bedroom was also amazing. I loved the size and accessories. It honestly gave me some inspiration as I start to dream up what I want our master to look like as we hope to add on in a couple years. It was very spacious, yet chic and welcoming.
As you could see from the video, the kids’ room was also very nice. It seemed much bigger than typical hotel rooms. The space between the beds and the television was definitely larger. And on the side, there was a desk, table, and large chair, with plenty of room to spare. So even when we all gathered in that room to talk about the day before tucking everyone in, nobody felt claustrophobic. It was a very nice room.
The beds, bedding, and pillows were fantastic. Everyone slept great here. I loved how comfortable everything was. And it was so nice that they supply plenty of pillows for everyone! No skimping and only giving one per person. I slept so well that I totally wanted to bring the bed home with me!
The Lobby & Side Bar
The lobby of the Sheraton Bloomington features a welcoming front desk. Each time we went in and out, I never saw any large lines. People were quickly and efficiently checked in and assisted as needed.
There was plenty of seating throughout the entire lobby area. On the sides, you’ll find semi-private booths with tables and a couple small chairs. There are also coffee tables and accent chairs staggered throughout as well.
The main portion of the lobby entertainment area is nice and open. It also features a variety of seating as well as a few electronics/computers.
At the far end of this gathering area, guests will find the side bar. This bar is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as for cocktails. So you can choose to start your day in Bloomington with a Starbucks coffee and grab-and-go breakfast items. Or come back early evening to enjoy our hotel bar offering appetizing American cuisine, extraordinary cocktails, craft beer and fine wines.
On Site Restaurant – Lela
The Lela Restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, Sunday brunch, and daily happy hours. Savor traditional classics with an innovative flair, the Lela is an award-winning American restaurant with an inviting urban atmosphere. Enjoy succulent seafood crudos, juicy prime steaks, hand-made pastas, and shareable plates rooted in classic techniques. While we didn’t have a chance to dine here, I was eyeing up their Challah & Berries French Toast as it sounds divine!
This large fitness center is open 24 hours a day to Sheraton Bloomington guests. Equipment and services include: cardiovascular equipment, free weights, and more. While we only visited for a few minutes, I would have loved hanging out in here to do a workout with my husband if we had time.
Overall Thoughts From Our Stay At The Sheraton Bloomington
There was definitely a lot to love about this hotel. The entire place was clean and welcoming. Staff was friendly at every interaction. The ice and vending machines were spread out across each floor nicely so it wasn’t too long a walk. Our suite was beyond wonderful.
However, there were a couple things I also want to note. I would highly recommend the Sheraton Bloomington Hotel for couples, businessmen and women, girlfriend getaways, events, and weddings. The one thing that was a disappointment to our family was the lack of a pool. When we go to a hotel, even if it’s just for an hour, the kids love to swim. So that was the only let-down over the course of our stay. But we made the best of it and spent quality time hanging out, playing games, and exploring.
Truly a beautiful place, I’d totally enjoy a weekend getaway with my husband here again.
