Dogs Have Always Been a Part of My Life
For as long as I can remember I’ve been an animal lover. Growing up we had a beagle named Rocky. Here he is sitting with my sister and me. Isn’t he cute? (And check out that sweet 80’s green couch, haha!) We adored that dog and he was so good with children!
Then I rescued a stray Rottweiler in my teenage years. When I say rescued, I mean rescued. This poor girl was a full-size rottweiler and weighed in at a mere 54 pounds. You could see every bone in her body and as you can imagine, was extremely malnourished. She also had 3 different types of worms in her system. We put her through a detox for dogs and started her on high-quality puppy food and within just a few weeks she was starting to look more like a Rottweiler should! I named her Annie and she was such a wonderful dog!
Our Dog Emmy is a Part of the Family
Fast forward a few years to just after my husband and I were married. On a whim, we decided to stop at our local humane society which was having a yard sale that day to raise funds. We walked past this sweet red dog with big eyes and immediately fell in love with her. We brought Emmy home that day and our lives have never been the same.
We’ve had our dog Emmy for nearly our entire marriage of 12 years. All of our children have grown up with her and just adore this sweet, gentle dog. She’s truly a member of our family!
We estimate that she’s about 14 years old now. Emmy has always been a very energetic dog but lately, we have started to see the signs of aging. Her coat is not as shiny and soft as it once was. Although she still gets excited and enjoys playing with us, she tires much more quickly these days.
It Was Time to Find a Detox for Dogs for Emmy
A few years ago, my husband and I started paying better attention to the food we put into our bodies, (and our children’s bodies) but honestly, we didn’t really give much thought to Emmy’s diet, let alone how the icky stuff she picks up throughout the day affects her. But lately, as I’ve watched her health decline, I was reminded that we should be paying better attention to how we’re fueling her aging body.
Because I’ve always loved dogs, naturally I was delighted when my first job as a teenager was working at a local boarding kennel. For years I worked at that kennel and came in contact with thousands of different dogs over that time. I can tell you from first-hand experience that there is absolutely a noticeable difference between dogs that are fed a healthy diet and those that aren’t.
Supreme Source® Pet Food Detox for Dogs
As we head into spring, I decided it was the perfect time for a detox for Emmy, so on my last trip to Food Lion, I picked up a bag of Supreme Source Pet Food. Not only is this dog food free of grains, artificial colors, and flavors, it’s also perfect to use as a detox for dogs.
This spring, Supreme Source Pet Food is here to help you delight your dog’s taste buds with healthy ingredients. It’s a premium grain-free diet that’s packed with healthy enzymes and prebiotics to rejuvenate dogs! It also contains a healthy blend of fruits and veggies, which are natural sources of potassium, fiber, vitamins and minerals. With the help of Supreme Source dog food and the 10-day program, you can detox your pet and focus on their digestive, emotional and physical health.
Supreme Source offers 4 flavors of dog food and I decided to try the brand new Grain Free Pork, Peas & Wild Boar Dry Dog Food with Emmy. For the beginning of spring, we started the detox with Emmy and so far, so good! She really seems to enjoy this new flavor and has been devouring the food the minute I put it in her bowl. In fact, as part of the detox, we’ve been mixing the new food with her old food and she picks out all of the pieces of the Supreme Source Pet Food to eat first. I can’t wait to share her results with you once she’s completed the detox!
