When my oldest daughter Maggie was born, I relied heavily on friends and family who were already seasoned moms for advice on baby gear. Over and over Philips Avent was recommended to me, so when it was time to purchase bottles, it was an easy decision to try out Philips Avent first. When they worked well for her, I stuck with them. Four kids and nearly seven years later, I still find that the Philips Avent bottles work great for my baby. The brand recently introduced a brand new look to their bottles, and I’m excited to tell you all about it today! Drumroll please………………….
If you’ve been around the baby world for any amount of time, no doubt you’ve seen the Philips Avent Classic+ bottles that so many mom are using (did you know they are the #1 bottle brand in America?). Philips Avent gave them a new name to reinforce the fuss-fighting benefits they’ve always had.
For those of you who haven’t tried a Philips Avent bottle yet, let me tell you why they are so popular among other moms. First and foremost, Philips Avent Anti-colic bottles are clinically proven to reduce colic and discomfort. Plus, babies fed with them experience less fussing at night (60% in fact!) than babies fed with another brand’s vented bottle.* As a mom of 4 let me tell you, anything that helps to reducecolic and fussiness is a godsend! I know I know, you’re probably wondering, why does it matter which bottle I use and how could that really affect fussiness. Trust me – it makes a difference! The unique integrated valve sends air into the bottle away from your baby’s tummy, which reduces air ingestion. Air ingestion can cause colic, gas, spit-up, burping, and general discomfort, so reducing it results in a much more comfortable (and happy) baby!
Another thing you’re going to LOVE about these bottles is just how easy they are to clean and then put back together. There are only 4 parts: bottle, cap, nipple, and the collar which holds the nipple in place. When baby is in a hurry to eat, it’s nice to be able to prepare the bottle so quickly.
The 3-bottle set shown above comes with stage 2 nipples, but different nipple flow rates are available, so you can find what works best for your baby. The nipples feature a ribbed texture, which prevents nipple collapse for uninterrupted feeding. All Philips Avent Anti-colic bottles and components are compatible with the Philips Avent Classic+ bottles and pieces. They are also compatible with most other Philips Avent feeding accessories, like their breast pump adapters and trainer cup kits.
As most of you probably already know, I’ve breastfed all of my babies and continue to do so with Gideon at 9 months old. Although many of his meals are at the breast, I’m also a firm believer in pumping and having bottles on hand. My husband and I make it a priority to get out and enjoy a date night as often as possible, so having bottles that my son loves, like the Philips Avent Anti-colic bottles, are an essential at our home. When I’m away, they are just as important to his bedtime routine as his pacifier, teddy bear, and his swaddle blanket! I feel good about using the Philips Avent Anti-colic bottles with my babies and I think you’ll love them too!
*At 2 weeks of age, babies fed with a Philips Avent bottle showed a trend to less colic than babies fed with a conventional bottle and a trend toward less fussing at night than babies fed with another brand’s vented bottle.
