If you were growing up in a Christian home in the 90’s, there’s a good chance you’ll know what all of these things are! I hope you like my list of 15 things only Christian kids from the 90’s will remember.
WWJD Bracelet
We all had them – we all wore them. Some of us had a few in various colors!
FROG Bracelet
These bracelets were lesser known than the WWJD ones – did you have one? I did!
MgGee & Me
My mom listened to Focus on the Family (did yours?), so when they came out with these movies in 1989, it wasn’t long before we were watching them in our home and church. They are now available in 3 movie sets on DVD. At one point they even made a board game, Sticky Situations, which we also owned.
VeggieTales
Broccoli, celery, gotta be…..VeggieTales! This show debuted in 1993 and quickly became a favorite cartoon among Christian families. The first movie we owned was The Toy That Saved Christmas, followed by my favorite, King George and the Ducky!
Adventures in Odyssey
We’d crowd around the radio just to catch the newest episode of this Focus on the Family classic! You never knew what would be happening at Whits End! This program is still being made and my daughter loves to listen to it. You can also watch free Adventures in Odyssey movies on Amazon Prime.
Left Behind
Left Behind made the book of Revelations come alive. There were a total of 16 novels created for this, which have since been turned into movies (the most recent adaption starred Nicolas Cage) and also adapted into novels for teens.
Bible Adventures for Nintendo
If you owned a Nintendo, the Bible Adventures game was a must-have! There were fun levels about Noah’s Ark and Moses. That game was tough – I don’t think I ever beat it.
Heavens Gates & Hells Flames
The first time I ever talked to my now husband was when we were teenagers and in this play together, so it’s pretty nostalgic to me. The people behind this production roll in 3 days before it starts, transform your sanctuary into an extremely sparkly room, and then members of the church come together to put on a performance for 3 days. I fell in love with Via Dolorosa from this production.
Touched by an Angel
There weren’t many programs on television that my mom approved of, but this was one of them. It was such a feel-good, happy show that always ended with the angels helping someone.
Psalty the Signing Songbook
Psalty is a songbook…not just any songbook, he’s a KIDS songbook. He travels all around the world telling kids about how much God loves them! He has been creating Christian Children’s music since 1980.
WeeSing
WeeSing produced movies and cassette tapes, including a special collection of 63 Bible and Sunday school songs. This has all the old classics like “Zaccheaus” “Father Abraham,” and more. I can still quote all of the books of the Bible, in order, thanks to the WeeSing songs that taught them.
Feature Films for Families
My mom loved getting Feature Films for Families for our family. Did you watch any of their classics, like The Buttercream Gang, Rigoletto, Caddie Woodlong, No More Baths, and so many more.
Brio Girl Magazine
If you were a girl who received the Brio magazine, I’m sorry to tell you that it’s no longer producing new editions. **tears**
Human Videos
Did you participate in making human videos in your youth group? I was always quite horrible at that, but that didn’t stop me from joining the group for Fine Arts competition each year.
Friends, Jesus Freak, Big House & Breakfast Song
Christian music was dominated by DC Talk, Michael W. Smith, Newsboys, Audio Adrenaline, among other great artists. If you purchased a WOW CD for the year, you got all of the best hits in one place! Who was your favorite?

Well this is a long shot š But my family and I are driving ourselves crazy trying to remember the name of a Christian kids show/movie that I believe wouldāve been made in the 90s. We think the backgrounds were animated but the kids were real. They were racing on exercise balls toward the edge of a cliff š«£š I remember a girl with dark hair sayingā¦āIām winningā¦Iām winningā¦Iām NOT winning!ā If anyone understands this reference I will be shocked but I am desperate lol!

Does anyone happen to remember and Kids Christian singer named Mr. Bill? We had a casset of his when we were kids but can't find the album anywhere. Songs like wa-wa-water And "don't be afraid of the big bad wolf".

Wow this article is so specific to my childhood. There was a lot of Christian media I had as a kid that nobody else remembers and I have the hardest time researching it online and finding it again. There was this animated movie about an angel that helped a boy that played baseball. And I remember hearing a radio story about a toy chicken that a kid stole and the toy started talking and it scared me so bad I had to hide near my grandma.

Ok, there was a weekly(?) comic strip in the lesson plans for my Sunday School somewhere around 1992-1997. I think it was called āCrockettā, but Google has no results at all for this. It was featured in the lesson plan book every week or so. Weāre talking Southern Baptist demographic lesson plans for children. The comic was usually only 4-8 panels, if I recall correctly.

My daughter is looking for a Bible story book from the 1990s that had an audio cassette that told the stories and also included songs between the stories. The song she remembers is about Jonah and the verses started out:
We sail a ship with a man named Jonah (3x) early in the morning
Lord our God have mercy on us 3x) early in the morning.
Fall on your knees for the sea is raging (3x) early in the morning.
There were several more verses. She wants to play it for her kids!
